[Image] Shreveport police have arrested an Elm Grove man in connection with the vandalism of vehicles at a Shreveport fire station, which in turn led to the discovery of a suspicious device in a nearby house on Friday afternoon. Officers were called around 11:30 a.m. to the parking lot at Shreveport's Fire Station 8 in the 3400 block of Velva St. for a report of vandalism to firefighter vehicles. Someone had apparently whacked some 30 golf balls into the parking lot. "We're also being told that there was some sort of writing on the golf balls, could be construed to be racial in nature," says SPD Chief Administrative Assistant Bill Goodin. And Goodin says officers didn't have to look far, or for long, for a potential suspect."While the officers were actually on scene investigating, a golf ball comes whizzing by...and a short distance away located an individual with a golf club in his hand." While investigators were still on the scene, they say they spotted a ball in the air and realized it was coming from a man across the street in a field holding a golf club. When they tried to approach the man, they say he tried to run. He was quickly captured. Police have now identified him as 45-year-old Christopher Bret Sheldon. Officers then say they found a small amount of methamphetamine on him. And THEN, the really funny stuff began. These guys have watched Hurt Locker one too many times.
