How can you argue with idiots like "Altruist"? You can't even have a rational discussion - yet twits like him hold the levers of power at present.

Extend this: if you can't talk you can't argue. If you can't argue you can't negotiate. You can't even agree to disagree.

They are planting the seeds of their own destruction but are too stupid to realize it. Maybe that's Nature's way of culling the herd of defective genes.

Getting "page cannot be found" on the article. The snippet is adequate however. I especially like the authors delusion that the military swore an oath to the "commie in chief".

I guess the Constitution is dead to these dumb-asses and the source of government (We The People) deserve no loyalties other than to "cough up" our hard earned money to feed their "workers paradise".

I like the way today's American lib always make reference to the "world" as in this extract from today's posting:

"....and they also think that force is the answer to many of the world's problems."

It never ceases to amaze me how patriotism and nationalism is a thing of the past with American leftists. Myself ? Well I could give a flying damn about "the world's problems" ! I'm concerned about THIS nation's problems and our loss of sovereignty at the hands of moronic citizens who have abandoned their freedoms to career politicians.

Personality Disorder

"An enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectation of the individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible, has an onset in adolescence or early adulthood, is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment."

A personality disorder is a pattern of deviant or abnormal behavior that the person doesn't change even though it causes emotional upsets and trouble with other people at work and in personal relationships. It is not limited to episodes of mental illness, and it is not caused by drug or alcohol use, head injury, or illness. There are about a dozen different behavior patterns classified as personality disorders by DSM-IV. All the personality disorders show up as deviations from normal in one or more of the following:
(1) cognition -- i.e., perception, thinking, and interpretation of oneself, other people, and events;
(2) affectivity -- i.e., emotional responses (range, intensity, lability, appropriateness);
(3) interpersonal functions;
(4) impulsivity.

Now THAT is the zombie you quoted. Cure Liberalism! Kill Communism! GIVE TO MENTAL HEALTH TODAY!

No, they don't swear allegiance to the Commander in Chief, they "...do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same...". The oath of allegiance is to the Constitution, and NOT to the President, and is supposed to be one of the features that distinguishes our form of government from the tin-horn dictatorships elsewhere in the world. This distinction matters.

Sorry. Not so much.

First and foremost, I swore to "...support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

The part about obeying the President is contingint on his orders being lawful and constitutional. Hence the following at the end of the oath, "...according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."

I'm assuming the idiot that cranked out this, failed high school government class.

Quote: "Besides they have all sworn allegiance to their Commander in Chief."

The last time I rose my right hand, the words were "to support and defend the Constitution, against enemys foreign and domestic". The president was somewhere farther into the oath. In my mind, the oath is swearing allegiance to the Constitution first and foremost, everything else is secondary. So in essence you are swearing to protect the document and ideals that the Constitution embodies.

Funny, I seem to remember swearing an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I've heard that there is a new oath that includes the president, but then wouldn't one have to retake the oath at every election? That's what many sheriff's departments do when a new sheriff is elected.
Screw that! Even a deputy sheriff swears to protect and defend the Constitution, and that takes precedence over any elected official.

When these arrogant, vicious hypocrites stop trying to run my life and take everything I own at gunpoint, I'll consider their arguments. OK, Obama as "the new sheriff." We know that the sheriff is the highest constitutional position in a county, the building block of a republic. They should not, MUST not, be anti-constitutional. If they are, the people have a duty to disobey, educate or recall.
Mandela made life better? Has he read about Marxist South Africa lately? Used to be a net exporter of food, but since privately-owned land has been seized and awarded to Mandela supporters, the farms are owned by incompetents and SA has to IMPORT food. The white minority is being disarmed. I guess the will to use the guns you have is as imporant as having them, and now it's kinda too late. I'm all for freedom and equality, but that's not what we're seeing, it's payback with interest. Yes, apartheid was wrong, imprisoning black Africans in poverty. Clueless? Naw, he knew he was full of shit. He remembers how the far left was desperate to lose the war in Iraq, just to try and hurt Bush.

Since the election of Obama, where are the cries of "Bring our troops home!" and "This war is lost!"?

The article was basically a list of everything the left did during the Bush administration, being projected onto the right. It doesn't matter that it is a pack of lies. The left deals strictly in lies, and the attempt to tell them often enough that people will start to believe.

Trying to reason with the enemies of the Constitution, at this point, is just a delaying tactic.

"The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is very apt to spread discontent among those who are. "

Why is it that the Left refuses to acknowledge that the rule of law is backed by the threat (and delivery) of violence? Or do they believe that the police carry those guns to look impressive?

I took the trouble to register and comment:

Altruist: "This is the first in a series exploring solutions. The first step is to realize that in this country, the majority rules."

Altruist, your "first step" was a misstep. While it may be true that the majority rules a democracy, we in the USA live in a republic. As such, it is the Constitution that rules--both the majority and the minority.

"A recent Washington Post report indicated that there are 1,271 government entities and 1,931 private companies engaged in intelligence-gathering work. If you are hoarding weapons and advocating the overthrow of the government, how many of them do you think are reading your posts and listening to your phone right now?"

Isn't this a tacit admission that we are rapidly degenerating into a police state? Wouldn't resistance to such a development be an act of patriotism?

"There is no possible way that a bunch of weekend warriors can take on the most powerful military in the world, no matter how many weapons they acquire."

This is a gratuitous assertion. It looks very much as if the Taliban will triumph in Afghanistan against the US-led coalition forces, just as they successfully drove out the Red Army earlier. Also, explain how the Viet Cong--a rag-tag outfit from a third-world country--beat both the French and the US? Who says it can't be done?

Will the "most powerful military in the world" attack US cities to quell a domestic insurgency? Will they nuke Nashville if "weekend warriors" there buy one too many .50 caliber rifles? Wouldn't that result in "blow[ing] up government buildings and harm[ing] innocent civilians?"

Your arguments are inane, ineffective and easily refuted.

(1) The ENLISTED oath includes a promise to obey the orders of the officers appointed over him, and the CinC.

HOWEVER:
(a)This comes *AFTER swearing allegiance to the Constitution and promising to "support and defend it against ***ALL*** enemies, foreign OR DOMESTIC"

(b) It's followed by "...in accordance with regulations and the UCMJ."

(c) The UCMJ makes clear that each soldier has a duty and obligation to refuse unlawful/unconstitutional orders.

Ergo...

(2) In re: Mencken - I prefer THIS quote: "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."

This is - unquestionably - one of those times.

(3) The majority ***DOES NOT RULE*** because we live in a *REPUBLIC* - not a democracy. In said Republic, the ***CONSTITUTION*** rules.

See #1 above.
