The poor Security Officer schlub must not have been working armed since the article didn't mention him returning fire along with GPD. NO FREAKING WAY I'd have worked something like that unarmed. He ought to sue his employer and the organizers for not having an armed SO there. The organizers for pinching pennies and his employer for not insisting on an armed guard. Event like that just begs the rug huggers to pull something.

The event was being held at a public school facility, and the officer that was shot was the local school cop (think truant officer.)
Given the heavy police presence, he probably made the right call in getting into cover and letting the traffic cop get all the glory.
So, yeah, they got taken down by a truant officer and a traffic cop.
