If smart guns were such a great idea, the police would be first in line to buy them, so that a gun could not be taken from an officer and used against him. I'm sure some concerned politician will make smart guns mandatory for law enforcement - it will be worth it, even if it just saves one life....

Actually, the potential to make it safer for the rapist/murdering/thieving government swine to do their slavering work is there. Or don't those Heinies remember the SchutzenStaffel? Naw, I guess not, because old habits die hard.

As long as we have smart gun owners, 'smart guns' will not be needed.

What we DO need, however, is 'smart voters'... 200 million at least! America will not endure without intelligent voting and constitutionally obedient public servants (namely, elected officials)!!!

"But he doesn’t understand that the anti-gunners will use this to infringe on a constitutional right."

Wrong. The prohibitionists will use this to TRY in infringe the 2nd, but they will fail.

There are *300 million* guns in this country. They won't be turned in because some guy designs a new kind of gun. Not gonna happen. If it did, then we were paper tigers from the beginning, and ought to get ready for our shackles because we would deserve them.

Far from being a disaster, this might actually expand the gun market, significantly. Think of all those potential buyers who might give it a try but worry about leaving their purse somewhere or about their kids getting access to it.

Don't people get tired of playing Chicken Little?

Any gun that can be rendered a paperweight by an electronic device can be rendered that way by a tyrant with a device to work his will upon you. I would not own such a piece of "collectivist" junk.

Such dumbasses who get old and feeble minded should be relegated to the old folks home and left out of society all together.
