Sometimes, reading hir ramblings, they seem to make a bizarre sort of sense. Usually totally off-topic, but yes, vaguely sensible...

Actually, his remarks are often pretty deep and usually incorporate some significant insights... It is good to have him.

I feel a distinct sense of embarrassment. As rexxhead allusively notes, it might be a stretch to say that my comments are always on point. And while of course I do occasionally go somewhere, I'm not really back from anywhere in particular. I do sometimes disengage from an invested position relative to events and seek perspective contrast, which more and more frequently involves contemplation of concepts much further outside the so-called 'Overton window' than would be useful to discuss.

That might be less elaborately described as 'flaking'. But I do often come back with a few new insights, or seeds of them. How useful any of them is hard to assess...the current course of events makes distinguishing 'better' and 'worse' outcomes more of a matter of conjecture than is even the case in ordinary times.

Chiu, me bucko, you're not talking to the Harvard Law School Reunion and Blood Drive. You're insights are just darlin', darlin', but not so wordy would be taken more easily by the masses who read here. People that read here, while often being well read, are more of the blue collar types, people that change their own oil, can food for themselves, raise gardens (for food) and raise children. More of the earthy type you see.

Those are some things that I miss doing more than I thought I ever would when I still had the physical ability to do them.
