Hi Leah, I was wondering if there were any works by Canadian aboriginal artists in the show?

Hi travelpeapod,

Yes, there are. The show was coordinated by three curators at the National Gallery, one of whom is Greg Hill, curator of indigenous art. (The others were Josee Drouin Brisebois, curator of contemporary art and Andrea Kunard, curator of photography)

So looking through the catalogue, I can see the following First Nations artists represented:
Shuvinai Ashoona
Mary Anne Barkhouse
Rebecca Belmore
Thirza Cuthand
Nadia Myre
Tim Pitsiulak
Shelley Niro
Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun

One thing I wondered about in terms of those smaller video screens at the end is that's where the Cuthand, Myre and Niro works are. It was a smaller presentation than I had expected looking at the catalogue, where the artists are given more equal weight. We also can't know what went on behind the scenes in terms of trying to juggle the priorities of these three different curators. I can't imagine it would have been easy.

Oh and by the way, from rereading my post, I can see that I definitely drank the Kool Aid on this one. :)
