When a beautiful general's daughter is kidnapped...and of course all I can think is, the general is beautiful? Then I'm sure his daughter is also. Tho you usually don't hear a general described as beautiful.... Sorry, still finishing cup one of coffee and that IMDB description struck me funny. I love Sean Bean but have never watched Sharpe -- I have to see if the library has the DVDs.
Sharpe is the role that defines the "Bean" persona for me and cemented my lifelong, er...interest... in him as an actor.
Another great thing about the shows are the terrific supporting cast. Harper and Sharpe's chosen men are excellent. To this day we use the expression "forlorn hope" to describe some of our family efforts. Hope you can see them. There is one episode about Waterloo I have never seen. Better put it on my wish list.

Watching BBCAmerica last night, Silent Witness: A time to heal.
The voice of the character, Walter Shanley was so familiar ... I realized it was Harper from the Sharpe series. A search for Daragh O'Malley on IMDB turned up this wonderful news: Sharpe's Challenge (2006)
