A much needed aid. Thank you Google. Now do something to fix the capitalist prices for Internet access. Its ridiculous how high they charge!

And the fact that 3G and 4G networks are faster than DSL/WIFI is further proof of control over the market.

It will be much better if google collaborated with mediatek directly so that they could update all mediatek based devices to latest android versions rather than this Android one scheme. I know many mediatek devices are out there and their number is quite higher as compared to just android one devices.

Dear Caesar Sengupta & team,

Hope you are good and healthy.

I have some quick observations/points to share with you.

According to xda dev
ref:http://www.xda-developers.com/google-to-launch-next-gen-android-one-on-14-july/

1> Android One (1st Gen) selling price is $65, in Pakistan you have doubled the price to about $113 that is beyond the thoughts that why it is so costly in Pakistan when both countries (India and Pakistan) have mobile phone based in Chinese manufacturers.
2> The current device with this price tag is not fair enough to compete with other phone from same vendor (QMobile) and other chinese brands (Rivo, Lenovo, Huawie and so on). Except that A1 RUN on stock ROM.
3> 2nd Gen Android is already planned for India, it should be great if it was launched in India and Pakistan both (may be with little delay) as both countries are moving with good speed to adopt new gadgets.
4> Quality of QMobile (current non google phones) is not so good to be adopted by knowledgeable persons.

Hope you notice some of my quick observations.

Regards
Kashif

@Kashif Surhio
Well you don't know how much taxes they are charging per unit when Importing into Pakistan.You pay 30% tax.Most manufacturers are importing complete handsets in Pakistan rather than assembling them as in neighboring India. There is also red rape involved in the process like approval from PTA, fines from Customs in the detention center.After all that they also pay for advertising and shopkeeper also keeps some money in this pocket, So it is obvious that price of phones in Pakistan will be higher as compared to India.

1. will Qmobile also sell extra or replaceable battery??
2. what sensors are in this mobile??

@Ab
@Kashif Surhio

Tax is only PKR 500 ($4.5) on each mobile. Tax is NOT 30% on mobile phone itself who told you that? Well 30% tax is on making phones calls NOT on mobile hardware.

@E
ask any importer or custom official.You nearly pay 30% (tax + customs) when importing to Pakistan.

@E, I know but AB is not in mood to understand. May be he is one of the employee of QMobile (just benefit of doubts)

@kashif surhio I am not an employee or shareholder of any mobile brand in Pakistan. Furthermore I also wanted to import some phones from China and I asked the relavent authorities about taxes and duties they all told me the same ,if you have any doubt ask any importer you will get the same answer. You can even Google it.
