'the company of enthusiastic people' Amen! That's what I love about this blogging community. Thank you for sharing your simple things with me. xo country girl
beautiful image and so, just totally basic and touches at the primal level. one of the first ever things we learned to do for our families - weave the cloth to clothe them.
Such splendid photos! I admire your taking up a new craft--always so exciting. Weaving is one I've not tried yet. There's a weaving revival happening now, which is wonderful how the old arts are "in" again, Happy Day :o)
"a kind and patient teacher" i adore that. this weaving comes with such detail. i love that you are making your way, though such an intricate art. xoxo
Being at ease with oneself...oh yes, that is such a simple blessing...a joy. For some that doesn't come easily and for some they might not even realize what a simple pleasure it is. I'm glad you listed it!!!
And your photographs are vibrant and intoxicating...just looking at them I can feel that wool and see the weaving taking place!!
I have tried weaving when I was a teenager and I enjoyed it very much. About a year ago I read about the famous tapestries in Tracy Chevalier's *Lady and The Unicorn* and this brought back this lovely craft again.;) xo Zuzana
christina of soul aperture is taking her simple things one step further this time. she and her family will donate $1 to doctors without borders for relief for haiti for every blogger who participates in the simple things today. benefits for all - we remember that it is the simple things in life that are important and in so doing, help people in need all while being part of a worldwide chain of love and good will. i can't really think of anything better than that.

Learning an aged-old craft. Isn't that the best? May you be entwined in many knots of love, my friend.

I love the photos of the loom, but I don't know what work is in progress. Maybe that's the thing the loom is asking. What shall I be today?

I love the single focus of this post. That, in itself, is a simple gift. To be able to focus on one beautiful thing.
