Well, South Dakota has never been my favorite place -- driving through the Badlands in an un-airconditioned station wagon with two parents, three kids, and a grandma will do that for you. But your photos make it look beautiful.
I will always remember South & North Dakota as being the "cherry pit" and "Melon" states. Driving with the windows down (no airconditioning) with Mom & I spitting pitts as far as they would go and the best part, stopping at the fruit stands for melon breaks. Oh, and lets not forget, licking salt off our hands/arms because it was so darn hot!...Our kids had/have it too easy. (grin)
