good to have you back from crab land. saw your FB status - as you know ;) - and was wondering why oh why you even bothered to see it. now i know. what a mother will do for her child - and of course she's got to see it. just remember to sneak in - in a casual way - that they really aren't that talented and they really don't have much x or any other factor at all. just for the record :)

The story sounds like one of those that could be an award winning film at the Sundance or Tribeca film festivals!
:-)

Glad it snapped you from the crabby state. Some days are like that.

My brother owns a bar right near there and Old Mill out sells 10 to 1 *shudder.

Sounds very typical for that prairie area and I too just can't imagine that being the way to spend every weekend past the age of 22!!!! But how fun for a once more/why not adventure to retell to your fuming sis?!

love it!
now where is that tequila?

there is nothing better than an outdoor fire and toasted marshmallows to cure the crabby right out of ya! of course, then i'd have to get the chocolate and graham crackers out as well.
and how very kind of your sister to go to all that trouble just to cheer you up...

Love that photo, looks so warm and cosy and happy and I just love the smell of open fire (and bread on stick...marshmallows not so much)!
Hear you about the unbelievable stupidity of television - ever since I stopped watching it it is becoming more and more unbearable when I do catch a glimpse now and then. You're right to keep Sabin away from it for most of the time!
That prairie night out actually sounds like fun to me but maybe that's because as a city girl the words 'cattle' and 'pick-up' have some weird draw for me ;))
Here's to a non-crabby monday!

Oh, by the way, do you think you could maybe open comments for name/url as well? It's such a bother to sign up with wordpress everytime, click trough the process of allowing them access to blogspot etc...

I agree with you on the X-factor, I cannot believe that dweepy guy without an ounce of charisma (nor talent) made it all the way.
I am happy though that your mood turned around, sometimes the most unexpected things make us feel better, for me it was the butterfly I found on Saturday.;)
Wishing you a lovely Easter,

Awesome story. I love that she wanted a rubber glove. And someone produced one. That sooo reminds me of home. Le sigh. ;)

Glad you're feeling a bit more chipper. Gotta hate that crabby feeling.

Oh, that is a 'cheery' story! And toasting marshmallows? Perfect ending! Have you tried s'mores with white chocolate/coconut chocolate and strawberry marshmallows? Sublime!

This is JUST what I needed to read. You see, I've been a bit of a crab the last day or so ... after a few days of feeling like the punching bag for trouble-making, dramatic people on the internet. (I don't know why anyone would waste their time on such things!)

Anyhow, I've been working my way out of my funk by trying to focus on the simple pleasures in life, as that usually works. Still, I did some of the same things as you, like crabby statuses.

All in all, things are looking up and your post boosted me another notch. Thank you. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. :)

P.S. Old Milwaukee is made in the state where I live! (Wisconsin) I've actually never tried it. Now I must do so soon.
