So what do the Danes do on the Real Christmas Day, Dec. 25? When do they open gifts? Or do they?

Craciun fericit (Merry Christmas) from Moldova, where they celebrate 2 Christmases: Dec. 25 and January 7 (orthodox).

Traditions are funny things, aren't they? What ever day, what ever way, may your celebrations be warm and loving and your dreams for the future year unfold with promise and joy.

When in Rome...

Since I grew up in Sweden with the whole celebrating on Christmas Eve and I now live in Australia where they celebrate on Christmas Day I compromise and I do both.

Countries celebrating on Christmas Eve like to keep Christmas itself free of all that materialism - presents the day before, Christmas itself for the true reason which has nothing to do with trees or presents...they are of pagan origin after all.
