Togetherness is wonderful in short bursts, so is getting away from everyone :)
fyi - I've never heard of it being illegal to take pix in the airport. Casinos, yes, but not airports. Although it might make sense to not photo the pilot. Hmmm. I have a pilot friend and every time I fly southwest I ask who the captain is. Sometimes they will tell me, other times they tell me they aren't supposed to tell.
The way to tell the dif b/t a moth and a butterfly is how he holds his wings when stationary. Up it's a butterfly, down it's a moth. So I'd also go with moth on your ittle guy.
Welcome home! Also, look for package in 6-10 days :)

Usually after a vacation, I'm just glad to get back to my office so I have a minute to sit down! Vacations are starting to wear me out.
But the togetherness is nice for a while...

I thought it was just the military airports, and in customs and security it was illegal. I've taken loads of pics at airports both as press and private...

i am always a little bit happy to hear that other people get snappy and impatient with their families. It makes me feel less bad - when i spend time with family, either I or they have travelled so far, there is kind of a pressure to have an AMAZING time ALL the time, and of course that doesnt work...

I didnt know that it was illegal to take photos in airports either.

It is perfectly legal to take pics in an airport - unless anybody feels uncomfortable to pose for us.
But I like to take pics of aeroplanes(your pic and description of the morn rays on the plane taking you home were so heart-warming) and farewell pics of family and friends as they leave...
its nice to look back at them later on..esp when we travel from India to US, or they leave from US to India. Won't be seeing each other in a long time.. so why not take some pics?

Welcome back. looking forward to good reads from you about the trip. immensely enjoy your pics.

i did a bit of research on whether it's allowed to take pix in airports...turns out it depends on the airport and where you are in the airport. but the pix i took in AMS were definitely not illegal. (phew!) most tend to say that it's a no-no to take pix of airport security, but elsewhere, you're ok...

I've taken pics in airports lots of times . . . and never realized there was a rule against it! (I like the way you include all three pairs of shoes; I believe those are green El Naturalistas?)

Sometimes I think that I go away in order to better appreciate being home. Your dinner sounds gorgeous.

Agree about the fading garden . . . and I so want it to be nice for next weekend!

I love the clarity of the pictures! Family vacations typically start off well but are very annoying after the first week....

Ha ha! I've had the British version of that lecture. And I get rebellious too! Fun photos; the flower one is scrumptious. As for taking pics at Charles de Gaulle, it's not okay to take any beyond the screening area or passport control, although it is allowed in the main ticketing part of the airport. But it is illegal to photograph people in France w/o their permission, so very iffy; best not to get carried away snapping photos of people.
