Did you grow these artichokes yourself? That is so amazing! I would love to do more gardening, but for the presence of hay fever and the lack of a garden I conclude it's not meant to be right now :)

I got the spreadsheet idea because my little sister kept being inquisitive about how much I own or bought. I don't mean to show it to her, but I'm glad to know about it myself now!

thank you, sammi! (i was thinking no one noticed my bacon joke.) yes, we WILL get pigs for their bacon. perhaps already this autumn! husband is working on their chateau as we "speak." :-)

poet - we did grow these artichokes ourselves! (weird, i swear i posted this answer earlier, but it's not here.) they're easy...they are perennials, so they grow back every year and all they really require is a bit of horse poo! i tell you, that stuff is a miracle cure.
