I dunno ... rainy, gray monday mornings mean no snow and probably no strong winds and that's a good thing ... tho I do wish I lived in Spain or Southern France or Australia or San Diego or someplace w/out cold rainy gray Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, etc. etc. etc.
I like writing for myself, kittens, fondling grown up cats' paws, a warm cup of tea in the morning, new teacups, spending time with my teen daughter, drawing, making things out things that have been discarded, sleeping, being fit and healthy, reading books and - more importantly - other people's blogs, studying people, conversations and discussions, freedom....
I dislike writing at work, going to work, KPOs at work, HR at work, not being able to do what I really want to do for a living, my ex (!), people who hate on other people, people who can't be nice, bad drivers, getting punctured tires on my bike, being overweight, angry encounters, people who don't understand the concept of "win-win", constraint....

i started my day reading susan sontag's list of likes and dislikes on brain pickings. that led me further to a similar list compiled by roland barthes, which made me want to start my week listing (but not in the nautical sense)...

i like: the first, piping hot cup of sweet, milky tea of the morning. hyacinths in winter. nail polish. kiddie band-aids. pinterest. a stack of new books. yarn. washi tape. cats. new stædtler fineliners. making lists. sparkly things. knitting. reading. lego minifigures. candles. sitting by the fire. procrastinating. new shoes. dressing up. wearing sweatpants. airports. snail mail. petit basque cheese. coffee (starbucks, of course). learning new things. going to ikea. staying up late. collecting. snow. silver rings. converse. ships.
i dislike: taking down the christmas tree. waiting. cold tea (when it's supposed to be warm). tight flight connections. procrastinating. gløgg (or any hot wine). chapstick. marzipan. people who have no queueing manners. the jerks who drive like maniacs on our road. danes in grocery stores on a friday afternoon. not being instantly good at something. getting up early. going to bed early. winter rain (it's so grey and dreary). bilka. taking photos of things i dislike (hence the lack of mosaic for dislikes).

i dislike english weather; after living in the UK for nearly five years winter still has a profound effect on me and makes me incredibly miserable.
i really love travel and trip planning, and reading good books, and snuggles with the dog. and harry potter- of course.
