Way to go! I don't think I could keep my hands off perfumes though, or shoes. Well, at least you didn't cut out wine or coffee, or reading... or the thing that would make you vanish into thin air (which shall not be mentioned, lest we jinx it).
Well done, Julie... also, I've been very inspired by your austerity april, I found it easier to be austere myself knowing there is someone else in this world who's also being austere :-) I'm on a roll, I may extend the austerity into may as well... with one small hiatus for next week's weekend in Paris, please! Perfume is like an olfactory photograph. As you know, the fragrance of perfume is a liason between you and your memories and I really enjoyed reading your 12/22/08 post on your personal collection of perfumes and the memories you've attached to them.
I gave up wearing perfume a few years ago since it seemed pointless. I'm already seriously aromatic after spending hours every day working with essential oils and am pretty sure that after 18 years of handling the stuff, I have essential oil running through my veins instead of blood. Wherever I go I hear "you smell so good, what is that?" When I pull into Dunkin Donuts for some (really bad) coffee, they lean over and sniff my car..."what smells so good?". My mother claims she can smell the oils when she steps on my front porch.
But I digress. Since perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils, aromatic compounds and fixatives I can't wait to read your new perfume reviews!
Who knows, I might even be inspired to return to the perfume counter!
I am impressed! and proud...but...i don't even wear perfume, and I don't think I could pass up a perfume named "tea". I once took the wrapper to a Twinings Earl Grey teabag and rubbed it behind my ears. Don't tell anyone, though. OK? tt

i would like to share that because it is austerity april, yesterday, i tested myself and allowed myself to meander through the duty free in kastrup (one of the best in the world, lacking only hendrick's gin (loved by a small handful of people, all over the world)). sounds dangerous, doesn't it?
and i would like to report that i remained strong in the face of this, despite being a known and diagnosed perfumaholic:

it's the summer line from kenzotea - silk - magnolialight and gorgeous (magnolia is best)(i didn't say i resisted TRYING them on)(that's what they're THERE for)
but aren't you all proud of me?
i think i'll extend austerity april into may, just for fun.
but i will do a new perfume review soon, after all, i've still got all this to go (and more):[Image]
