I know what you mean about reading bad books, however I always find that I must finish a book no matter how much I hate it. I hate leaving books unfinished.

Hahah, this made me laugh as I really enjoyed 'A Visit from the Goon Squad' and I love Anita Shreve (though I haven't read All She Ever Wanted'. I like books that have 'moment in time'ness I think. But yes, if you are two chapters in and you're not enjoying the book, stop. There's a book you love waiting for you!

It is very, very soggy and very, very windy here too.

Your writing, as always is splendidly well done. I can enjoy it every time.Literally, I've never been disappointed by what I find here. So a Thank You would be in order.

Your annual crayfish & schnapps party sounds like heaven :-) So does the raspberry jam!

Love the pics of your daughter in purple on her horse a few posts back. My family has horses and it made me think of them. Thanks.
