Waves hello! Yes, i confess that I am SO irritated at Obama getting the Peace Prize. He is, whichever way you look at it, the most powerful man on the planet...striving for peace is part of his job, he shouldn't get a bloody prize for whatever he does in the pursuit of world peace, it should be a GIVEN.

I'm really immensely cross about it actually. I'm not saying he's not making impressive moves in the right direction, just that what he's doing is what we expect of him and, presumably, part of the reason the American public voted for him. There are others, surely, more worthy...who are making strides towards peace in difficult circumstances, without being paid to do so, because they are deeply passionate about it and (controversial I know) aren't driven, at least a little bit, by the hope of re-election (steps off soap box).

That's my confession. Phew. x

So, I just stumbled upon your blog and, I must say, I love the way you think!. . ."moments of perfect clarity" and "flashes of insight" are how I feel I get through my day as well (confession #1).

I'm not exactly sure what you do for a living, but I love the fact that you can enjoy a glass of wine, or two, and daydream about your next traveling adventure. I, on the other hand, daydream about one day having a profession that allows me to do the same (confession #2).

And finally, I'm at work right now, clearly not working (confession #3)! He he he. . .

You are nice to your husband! Also I hope they hae olives for you!

I don't think Obama should have gotten the Nobel Peace Prize. I think the other people had done alot more to help the world, over a long period of time. Though I do think he has good intentions, and does good things, I kind of have issues with it. He has alot more to prove in my book. Also spudballoo is right, he shouldn't be given the award for just doing his job.

Sigh. I love this confession.

1st, free wine? Why do they not have that around me?

2nd, I'm on the fence regarding Obama. I think that further on down the line he will deserve it. But has he effectuated peace? Mmmm, I think that remains to be seen....

BTW, I'm an Obama-mama, so take that whicheverway you like.

I confess I think I'd like to go to Macedonia to look for a husband... or did you and Michelle get the last ones available there?

@Spud: I get what you're saying. It's like your spouse expecting a thank you for drying the dishes or something like it's a big deal instead of an everyday thing that he SHOULD be helping with.

I confess (1) that I haven't packed for the trip I'm going on tomorrow (going to a friend's wedding), and (2) that it's been so long since I wore heels I don't even know where they are, and maybe I should go find them...

oh thank god someone else said it, I don't get why the peace prize when he is talking of escalating troops. *sigh* i thought it was about .... well, peace. anyway.

i love good olives. and travels in almost empty airports. i once flew on a plane that had only five passengers - it was good times. pick any row and scoop up snacks anytime.

i rarely 'get' the literary picks anyway - it's usually the most depressing book on the market and i feel like total shite after i read it.

Whew! I feel better. Confession really is good for the soul, even if it's not confessed to the person it really should be confessed to.

Ahhh...

Confessions can be good, no? And it appears that your penance this time is no olives. Not much of an olive fan myself, but I am imagining this is like not having chocolate and I feel for you! : )

I am naming your bridge the "journey bridge." Loving the spot that it is in, enjoying it for the present, but seeing that adventure definitely lies ahead. Nice.

Thanks for your wonderful notes (as always). Yes, this blogging world is indeed a gift. And so instead of a(nother) confession, I am going to count my blessings today, which include getting to share with you.

Have a wonderful weekend! And, safe travels to Istanbul. I am so excited to be going to Turkey with you ~ another vicarious vacation!

do you really think my photos are getting better? that's wonderful, thank you. that actually gives be a bit of energy to keep trying. because I confess I completely lost the plot lately, I have zero energy to keep blogging and to keep taking photos... I may be hibernating for the winter.

and I confess I agree with Spud on the Peace Nobel Prize point. I mean, I'm very pro Obama, but a Nobel Prize?

btw: the lensbaby arrived yesterday all safe. thank you. I'll be posting the results :-)

have a great time in Tivoli tomorrow!

Very interesting list - it seems that we've both stumbled into couchsurfing recently. I've had 2 sets of surfers, but haven't stayed anywhere.

Obama is an interesting choice. It was given for the potential that he had, rather than for things he'd actually done. I hope that this keeps him motivated and also gives him another tool to use to bring about all the change he promised.
Have a great weekend.

I'm with most people, I don't think Obama should have gotten it either. Makes the whole thing seem less credible if one person can get it after having done.... well... ? Over the same period of time that it takes a lady to grow a baby. Maybe more fitting would be an American prize, maybe like being elected president or something like that. Look at me babble. Was up till 3am last night (yes it was a Sunday night) dancing my feet raw with transvestites. Best night ever. Then woke up to your package in the PO Box. Thanks Julie! BTW my confession is that I enjoy dancing with transvestites. They know how to party. :)
