I'd classify it as a beach read that makes you wonder if you hadn't known some things about Laura. What's true (a lot) and where does invention come in? I'm not sure. But the American Husband is just as despicable as his role model. Could she really love him?

Sittenfeld sometimes leaves me chilly, but I thought she nailed it for much of this book (I found a few parts too much and near the end, it dragged). I even hated Bush slightly less when I was done, which was something, I think.
