Will be interesting to see what running LIRR into Grand Central and
MetroNorth into Penn will do to this map, if anything. (The gains to
commuters might largely be post-commuter train, e.g. shorter walk, no
need for additional subway ride)
But looking at the map like this what I think about is through
running. Imagine for a moment that NJ Transit, LIRR and Metro-North were all managed as one interlocking agency with through running of some trains.
