I was struck by the photo of the old 7-Up sign. The soft drink bottling companies, then locally owned, were great community supporters. 7-Up, the Lynns' Coca-Cola, RC and Pepsi. I remember touring the 7-Up plant with Slim Carpenter, my scoutmaster, who, btw, invented the baked potato booth at the Kern County Fair.
