I never got to ride with Paul, but heard a lot about his adventures from his son, Brad. Though I am sad for Brad and his family, I take comfort that Paul died on his bike, doing what he loved on a beautiful Bakersfield day. I am sure he will be missed.

Paul was a great friend and mentor. Paul took me to my first college football game at the Rose Bowl to watch the Bruins. I never think he realized what a profound effect that experience had on the course of my life. He touched many other lives in the same way. Paul was a great friend, I always enjoyed talking sports with Paul whether it was after church or around town, he always took the time to find out what was going on in your life. I know he will be greatly missed by all.

This is sad news. I would see him around Bagels and Blenderz drinking coffee with his friends after bike rides. Knew him well enough to nod politely, perhaps say hi on occasion. A very nice man, taken from this world way too soon.
