I love the lighter color in the bath. Tell Milo that I just read a book about raising puppies by The Monks Of Skete and they say dogs need bathing only twice a year. I am not totally sure I get that but Joe says a dog smells like a dog. xoxo, Olive

oh such fun fun for bathing dogs in the lake, we did that with our dog as well! That is a huge frog, wow. The bathroom looks amazing!!!I like both colors!!
Love the new color in the bathroom... Can you tell me what it is?? & the firepit is fabulous... Can you post more pics of that sometime?? That is something I would love to pin & copy... Is it close to the house?, part of the patio?? Glad that you are having a good time... we are having nice weather in Mi. Our weekend at the cottage was perfect weather...
Oh- poor dogs!;>) Love that they gave them a bath IN the lake. Our neighbor (believe it or not) goes out with a bar of soap and washes in the lake on warm summer mornings-yeah-and that is all I'm gonna say about that.
Have fun relaxing today and at your upcoming cocktail party- xo Diana
I LOVE the color of the bathroom! My dog would freak if I have him a bath . . . he hates tubbies!!! He goes to "Pampered Paws" for his grooming! LOL!!!
The frogs . . . nah, give me the creeps too!
Have fun on Wednesday! Sounds like it will be a good time! I'm looking forward to seeing your photos!
Hello Jane, wow, so bright and pretty, great color choice. Fun time had by all. Yikes, that is one big frog, so happy he was let go though, we need them in the garden to eat all the bad bugs.Enjoy the day, Blessings Francine.
Your bath redo is so pretty! I love light blue, it looks so much brighter and bigger in there now! Funny about the dog baths. Have a great time at your party! Wish we had gotten some of your rain!
Jane the bathroom looks wonderful with its new lighter color! Sounds like you all are keeping busy but still relaxing. I hope you have a wonderful cocktail party!!
LOVE the new color, it really turned out beautiful! Great fire pit too, that's always fun! Sounds like you had a nice time (well, maybe minus the frog:@)
Love the new color Janie ~ it is so much more cottage like! I see are you reading 50 Shades ~ you must tell me what you think ~ I am on the 2nd one and although I don't understand why there was all the hype I am rather enjoying them. Christian Grey intrigues me.... lol
I love the new blue in the bathroom! Looks light, fresh, and airy. But that bullfrog...ugh! I've never seen a frog that big. Have a great time with all your company!
Hi Jane, I really like the color of your bathroom. Your bullfrog made me think about when we would catch them and have frog legs. They are good eating evening if they do look grouse. Enjoy your time at the lake, I thought about you when they talked about the storm in Chicago. Have a great week. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.
Blogger is being silly again, and just let me know about your last three posts. I don't know what's going on! Anyway, it sounds like your summer is in full swing - I don't know where you get the energy to paint, entertain, cook and still join in with all the fun. Amazing - the lake house must energise you!
Love your bathroom changes... and the pics of the pups in the lake! The fire pit is a great little design.. we get a lot of use out of ours, I bet you do too.
The new color is gorgeous! That is funny about bathing the dogs in the lake. Did they smell ok afterward? Eau d'wet dog is not my favorite scent. ;-)

Hi Janie! OH, poor little puppies! :) Your bathroom new wall color is so pretty! I love the blue and it fits so well with your lake house! Wow! 25 peeps. That's a lot of folks and I'm sure you all had such a great time. Take are and be a sweetie, Shelia ;)
Oh, Jane!!! I LOVE the new color, girl!!!!! So light and airy! I'll bet the room looks so much bigger, too! Sounds like you're having a fabulous time with friends and family at the lake this summer! :)
Jane, the new paint makes it look so clean and fresh! It looks great! Looks like you had a great time over the weekend, how fun to be surrounded by family and friends! Rebecca
I love the new color in your bath ,even though I am a big fan of red. It oes look so fresh and inviting. My dogs would freak out if they got a bath any where but in the tub!

[Image]I left you last week with a project started, painting the powder room. Well, it took me 2 days and although this is my vacation, the results were well worth it. This is the before...
[Image]...and here is the after. I am so pleased! It looks so much more open and bright. Even Emily, who chose the original red, loves it! I had to do two coats even though the paint had primer in it. Tell me what you think!
[Image]Friday night Abby and her boyfriend Tom came up. The first thing Abby wanted to do was give the dogs a bath in the lake (seems a little useless since that's what they smell like in the first place!). Yes, it took 3 of them to hold Milo down, he was very confused. He likes the tub and although the lake water is warm, he wasn't exactly loving it!
[Image]Then it was Layla's turn while Milo watched and probably laughed.
[Image]They got a good drying off under the arbor and were ready for company!
[Image]A bonfire was lit and company started to arrive.
[Image]Leave it up to my adult sons to revert to a childhood pastime, hunting down bullfrogs! These are some big critters and really give me the creeps. After grossing everyone out, this guy was let go.
Most of the family arrived Saturday afternoon and then more on Sunday. We almost topped last year with 25 people. I have a slew of pictures to share with you, but I'll do that in my next post. Everyone was gone by late last night and I collapsed in bed shortly after. The Husband is cleaning up the patio and yard right now and I have the inside to do. Then we are going to take the wave runners out to the sandbar and chill with a few cold beverages!
Wednesday evening is our cocktail party. It's going to be a great time reconnecting with friends we don't see too often. I really don't have a lot to do to prepare, so the next few days are going to be carefree. I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. The weather here in Michigan is gorgeous and a nice break from all the rain. Thanks for stopping by and I will see you in a few days.
I'm, joining Honey at 2805 for Potpourri Friday.

Hi Jane,
Whereabouts in MIchigan are you? That's my home state and I've spent plenty of time on various lakes there.
Oh, how I long for a cottage on a lake! This brings back memories of my dad's family cottage where we spent so much time in my young years.
Love the paint color.

Isn't it amazing how the artwork changed with the lighter shade? It's beautiful Jane! The perfect choice of color for a beach cottage!
You know how much I love it when you share images and stories from your Lakehouse!
Lovely Summertime! A beer on the sandbar would be heavenly!
Enjoy!
