Oh Jane, That is wonderful news. I am so glad everything is going well for you. Isn't it amazing what we can do when we have to? Hubby hip has become dislocated. We don't know when, but we are to meet the surgeon at ER tomorrow. Prayers go out for you and yours for a speedy recovery. Hugs your Missouri Friend.

So glad it all turned out well!! It's hard when things aren't in our control and you have to let others take the driver's seat. Happy Anniversary. I know the feeling of appreciating every minute of all those years.
I give you HUGE credit for driving around Chicago!! I find any alternative to driving downtown Chicago when I go. It makes all my underwear suffer too much...ha!
I have been saying some prayers for you and your family. I was wondering today how things went. I am so glad that he is doing so well. It is amazing how fast some bounce back. Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby. ((((((HUGS)))) for you for the week that you have had.
So glad things are going well. My husband would relate to your son. He is a fainter. They almost wouldn't let him in the OR when I had our first child by c-section. They brought him in at the last minute and put him right at my head where he couldn't see. He had almost passed out in my room when they described the epidural procedure!
LIke everyone, I needed some good news after the terribly sad day in CT yesterday. Knowing Al came through fine, and is already making a fast recovery, is music to my ears.............I know he will soon be home.
Congratulations on your anniversary dear Jane and Al - I loved your words about meeting and making a life with such a delightful man............and I feel blessed to have met you both and look forward to us getting together again someday.
Hang in there..............we all need to at times such as this. Love from us both Mary & Bob XX
Goodness Jane, I had no idea but I'm so glad your hubby is recovering well! I know you will take excellent care of him and he'll be right as rain in no time. Hope you are all able to enjoy the holiday!
Dear Jane, I am so happy to hear your husband's surgery is over and that he is recovering... my prayers will continue of course that he heals quickly and that you do too... sometimes people don't realize how very hard it is on those who are sitting in the waiting room waiting... wish I was there to sit and talk with you... xoxo Julie Marie Happy 26th Anniversary!...
So glad to hear your sweet hubby is doing great! I spent many hours bedside with my first husband. He was a heart patient with the 7th heart attack being the fatal one. He's been gone for 11 years now. Still miss him. I've been married to my sweetie now for almost 8 years. He's a wonderful man and I am blessed beyond belief to have found love twice in my lifetime. My late husband and I were married for 32 years.
Hospitals are no fun, and I know what you mean about sleeping sitting straight up!
That's great news, Jane! Good that he is moving around, too. I know they like to see that at hospitals. Your poor son ~ although, sometimes I feel lightheaded when I'm visiting people in the hospital. I have no idea why because when I've been a patient, I don't.
I am SO happy that your hubby is doing so well. I have been praying for you guys and will continue doing so while hubby recovers. Happy anniversary...I'm sure your husband's health is the best gift you could receive! xoxo

Hi Jane, somehow, with all that has been going on, I missed this about your husband but I am so happy to hear he is doing well and I wish continued and fast healing for him. Much Love, Lynn
Hi Janie, Sorry for taking so long to get over for a visit. I've been under the weather with that ol' vertigo again, plus a sinus infection that has me feeling as if I have a sick migraine. I'm sure this pales in comparison to your husband being in the hospital, however. Glad to hear everything worked out and he is on the mend. Take care of yourself and enjoy a happy Christmas celebration with your loved ones. hugs, Sue

[Image]Thank you everyone for your prayers and good wishes...I think they worked! The Husband made it through the three hour surgery with flying colors. It was the longest and hardest day of my life. We arrived at the hospital at 9: a.m. and I left at 10:00. His surgeon was absolutely wonderful...coming into the surgery waiting room to tell us how everything went. Thankfully when we saw him in recovery 5 hours later he was pretty much pain free as he had a numbing epidural and pain meds. He had the energy to hug and kiss all of us shortly before son Kevin nearly fainted and had to sit behind the nurses counter with his head down. He has always been the sensitive teddy bear in our family!
[Image]By the way, these pictures were taken outside the hospital and gift shop where I would go to get fresh air. I can't tell you how many Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts coffees I have consumed, nor the sweets I devoured from Au Bon Pain. Great stress relievers!
The day after the surgery, The Husband was sitting in a chair and walking the halls. He is adamant about getting strong and being sprung! He never complains, and I mean NEVER! He is amazing. Tomorrow he gets to start eating soft foods. He has had nothing to eat or drink since Monday night. He may get out on Sunday, but most likely Monday.
[Image]The days are long but I am a pro at sleeping just about anywhere, especially straight up in a chair as I did a lot of this week! The drive is unnerving to say the least, driving around in Chicago is a piece of cake, it's basically a grid, but getting in and out is crazy. I really had to put on my big girl pants. Stepping out of my comfort zone has been exhilarating!
Well, I just wanted to bring all of you up to date. And I'll close by saying that I prayed and prayed for a few miracles and my prayers were answered. Today is out 26th wedding anniversary. I have never felt so blessed that I met this incredible man to spend my life with!
Thank you again for being such a great group of friends. By the way...is there a holiday coming up? :)
