Hi Jane! Why is it that those who have curly hair want straight, and those with straight want curly???? Well, I like yours. It looks great. Love your new dresses too. Have a wonderful time.
Your hair looks great!! I can't wait for your vacation either! I am looking forward to Penny's lunch. I hope you will have time to spend a day shopping! Hugs, Penny
Jane, your hair is the bomb...love it. And I want curly of course. My news is I am going to let mine go gray...I am embracing my age and all that. Have fun this weekend!
Hi Jane, love your new outfits!... they look so pretty and feminine and what I call "prairie~girl" like, or country like... looks like they will be super comfy... and your hair, wow!... I want your hair girl!... it is absolutely stunning, which matches your personality to a tee!... I can tell how excited you are for your vacation, and how fun to meet two fellow bloggers. Would love to be at a lake somewhere right now in 70 degree weather... we are having another snowstorm right now, again!... hard to believe it is almost May... I am totally enchanted by the royal wedding, and it reminds me of fairytales with castles, queens and such... wishing you a beautiful weekend! xoxo Julie Marie
The back of your head looks great, Jane! : ) I'll have to look for that shampoo and conditioner because I'm sure my hair could use some clarifying. I'm adding Fridays to my weekends as my vacation days, which is fine by me. Even just having some time where I don't have to do anything or be anywhere on any kind of schedule will be a nice break.
Hi Jane, Thanks for the welcome back. This week, I will post photos of Kauai. I bet your honeymoon was wonderful the time you spent there. About your hair, I understand about wanting something we don't have. I also have curly hair. I will be standing by to see how you like it. I am sure you will getting plenty of exercise on the kayak. Have fun! XOXO Linda

Your hair looks great Jane! The good news is if you decide you don't like it straight, you can let it go curly again! I always say that my hair is proof that God has a sense of humor:@) Have a great weekend!
You have beautiful hair. My hair has been short for so long I wouldn't know what to do with long hair. Glad you are having so much fun getting ready for your vacation. Sounds like a fun trip. Jane
My sister has her hair straightened like that and she loves it. Mine, is stick straight all on its own. Plus, I keep it short for the very reason you mention...once it was short and only took a few minutes each morning, I never went back to hair that required work!
I'm ready to live vicariously through the Asheville trip. We have booked a week in Michigan in June. We decided we just wanted to go back to where we feel "at home" and do the things we love to do for a week rather than explore someplace new. I'm certainly looking forward to that.
I'm a capri girl. If they ever go out of style I don't know what I'll do. I rarely wear shorts and if I do, they are long ones.
What fun to get new clothes for your vacation! And your hair looks beautiful, Jane!
Hope you're having a wonderful day, my friend!

Gurl... I love your hair! I bet you are going to love the easy care for a few months. My hair is straight but if I'm in humidity it curls like crazy. You are having way too much fun shopping. The dresses are perfectly summer! Enjoy the weekend! Again, Love your hair! Hugs, ~Michelle
Oh my goodness... My mom and I are plotting my b-day trip for next year and our first thought was Asheville! My next thought was Sonoma or Napa, so we'll see which wins out : ) You will have a blast meeting your blogging buddies AND will look gorgeous, to boot, in your new finery and straight hair. Have a blast! xx Suzanne
Love your hair, I might have to look into this for my not so cooperative curly hair, especially with the humid weather fast approaching! And you will LOVE your kayaks!!! Lake Lure is such a pretty area, we had a family reunion there 2 summers ago.
Sounds like you had a full night. I recored the event and then watched it all morning. It was a beautiful day! Have fun at the lake and enjoy your trip to Asheville. Only know Penny from Comforts of Home. I'll stop by to meet the other Penny. ;-) Have fun! ~ Sarah
How funny! I went about 4 weeks ago and had my hair straightened too. I LOVE IT...and it just about the same length as yours. Now here's the kicker...I looked on top of my head this morning and there is NEW GROWTH coming in curly! Go figure..but I can slap those few babies down with a bit of conditioner. This is the 2nd time I have had this done in the past 2 years. Did everyone tell you that you looked younger?;>) One of the guys at work did not recognize me from across the lobby! lol
I love your dresses-they are darling...and I always wear skirts or dresses. I find them much more comfortable than shorts or slacks~
I am so excited for you to go on vacation too...have fun! Hugs- Diana
I am going to have to look into that Keratin treatment! It takes me a half hour/45 with a ceramic iron to straighten it every 2 days. My hair isn't curly...just wavy & thick...like Guinea Pig fur. lol! I love the treatment & your cut. I like straight cut in the back (versus tapered). It's very modern. Love your dresses too. Have a great time and thanks for always leaving such sweet comments!
Hi Jane, I like your new do and dresses. I would love to be a stole away and go on vacation with you. Please take some pictures for us to share when you get home. It sounds like so much fun. Our doctors would never allow us to travel that far from home. It is exciting to get to meet some of your blogging friends. Have a great time when you go. Take care Your Missouri Friend.
I have a friend who also did the keratin treatment, but she had an allergic reaction and had to wash it out. Even though she washed it, it was still straight-i guess the treatment is that strong. I have curly hair and it's a pain to deal with everyday, so i'll blow it out and flatiron it occasionally. Your hair looks very lovely btw:-). Enjoy every minute of your vacation! XX
Jane, your hair looks so pretty. Mine is that straight naturally, not a wave in sight. But as you say we always want what we don't have. I love how yours turned out. And your dresses look perfect for a vacation. Have a wonderful weekend, tami
Sent you an email.. I am about 4 hours from Ashville.. booo.. but you will love it! Your hair looks fantastic.. bring a sweater for the night air.. can get chilly. Have sooo much fun. Hope you get the email... Both my girls have curly hair and they straighten it daily w/ a flat iron. I love curly.. but I get it.
Your hair looks GREAT and so healthy Jane! I have curly hair too, and have tried to straighten mine often but it usually makes it look unhealthy and is too much trouble, so I go back to the curls! Wash, styling gel, and scrunch... all done!
Jane your hair looks tv shampoo ad stunning! Your dresses are also very cute. Have a great holiday and enjoy your fab hair.

Those dresses look wonderful. I wonder if I can find something like them as I love to wear dresses and skirts in summertime.
I love your hair either way. Oldest daughter has hers straightened now and then too. I have sort of wavy/curly hair. Although I wish I could, I cannot wear it long and never have..short neck and no patience! What can I say!LOL Anyhoo...Wednesday, I got my summer spikey cut. Works great...takes a little time, but my naturally curly/wavy hair drives me up a wall in humidity.:-)
Happy Travels...I am so looking forward to trip reports!
I just LOVE shopping and shopping for a trip is EVEN MORE FUN:) Love your choices in your attire and yep, skirts and dresses are comfortable! You can also add a necklace, scarf some heels and dress up a simple sundress!
Love your hair, wish my hair was curly:) Have a blessed weekend, happy shopping! HUGS!
Have fun, Jane. Your hair looks awesome! I just got my nails shalacked(sp?) yesterday. It is the no chip polish. We will see if it lasts for the three weeks, they say. It looks great, tho now.
Fun times indeed! Wish I could go with you! I love skirts and it's just about all I wear. Your photo of the new dresses looks very vintage and charming. Have a great weekend!
Super cute dresses and love your hair already! I straighten mine almost every day... the keratin thing sounds interesting- let me know how you like it after you wash it and everything :) Your vacation sounds like it is going to be so much fun! Can't wait to hear all about i! Hugs, Courtney
Howdy! How are things with you! I love the dresses and your hair!!! Wow! YOur the cutest blonde I've seen blogging! Big smile. Blessings, Debbie

My daughter had her hair straightened with the Keratin treatment as well. She loved it, her hair is naturally "frizz" curly. It did dry out her hair though, so beware! Love your new clothes, have a wondeful safe trip! Marcia
Your hair looks amazing. I try to keep my hair straight but I need to use straightening irons. Well done for staying up until 4.00 am to watch the Royal Wedding! I really enjoyed my day off work and sat in front of the tv for most of the day! Have a fantastic vacation. Susie X
Your hair looks gorgeous, so lovely and long! I haven't had long hair for years...it wouldn't look so good!!! Did you like the wedding dress? Have a great week. Emma.
My girl just gave me some Pureology products this past week. I've been an AVEDA girl since the 80's. As I've gotten older (and had 3 children) my hair has gotten curly. I used to pay for perms, now I use a straightener. Crazy I tell ya. Sunshine was ours today for a wee bit and very welcomed.
Hey pretty lady! What a beautiful head of hair you have, Jane! Wow! I cut mine last fall and loved it for about 5 months.....then started missing my shoulder length hair. Go figure. Sooooo.....I'm growing it out again. lol! I'm with you on the dresses and capris! I'm not a shorts-type-gal. Give me a boho skirt and tank top any day! I can hear the excitement in your voice about your vacation, too! I'm so very happy for you! :)
Hey wild woman!!! Your hair looks wonderful!!! I've always wanted that keratin thingy done to my hair! I can't believe you are going to be that close to me!!! I'm only 45-1hr away from the Penny's!!! lol! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Adorable Jane, just adorable! Love your hair, love your dresses, and I am sure your going to have a fabulous trip! Asheville is so pretty! Love Ya, Cindy
I love Old Navy for summer skirts and tops...One of my girlfriends made decorator pillows for her bedroom from a taupe and white enbroidered skirt that she found on clearance last fall...so O.N. can be considered as a place to shop for home decorating as well!
Oooh, how very exciting. I have quite curly hair and have always wondered what it would be like to have straight hair permanantly. And now you get to try it out!!! I bet you'll be stroking your gorgeous new hair all day!!
I have the Brazilian keratin blowout done abt every 6 weeks on my hair and love it! My hair is naturally pretty straight but living in So Fl it can get frizzy flyaways so that that really helps.
Asheville... BE STILL MY HEART! Remember you need to go to The Gove Park Inn & if you can do the SPA. HEAVEN! I am going to check out these 2 gals you linked us to. I ADORE Asheville & would love to know someone there when I visit. HAVE FUN! HUGS! Charlene
Hi Jane, Looking forward to your visit. I am so excited about meeting you. Blogging brings together wonderful people and we do have the Michigan connection.
Your hair looks amazing! Those dresses are cute too. You are going to have so much fun in Asheville. I can't wait to see the pictures. We were considering a trip with kids this summer but plan to make it a couples retreat later in the year instead.
Love Purology products! I use them because I have my hair highlighted and it is to help the colors stay true for longer! Expensive isn't it...trying to keep our hair looking nice! For this, I envy men!!! Hope you have a GREAT week sweetie! Cindy
Your hair looks fantastic Jane. I need to show this post to Ashlee. I love her curls, but she like her hair straight.
I watched a bit of the wedding before work Friday. I got tearful, too.

My internet has finally sped up enough for me to be able to read your whole post. The dresses in the 1st pic caught my eye, and I couldn't view anything else. Love the dresses and I love you hair. Gorgeous.
I have naturally wavy hair, so I can understand why you'd want a change and want to have it straightened. It looks really pretty from the back - but I'd love to see the front, too!
I'm really sad I won't be joining you and the two Pennys in Asheville - both are delightful gals and you will have such fun with them. If I wasn't going to the UK I'd be right up in our lovely NC mountains with you.
Have fun dear - and you'll look fabulous!

[Image]I've been enjoying shopping for my upcoming vacation. Any excuse to shop is okay with me. I mentioned that I bought a few dresses, so today I was hanging them, deciding if I should whip out the old iron and thought I would share a few with you. These were a great bargain at Old Navy. I also bought 2 skirts. Don't you find them more comfy than shorts?
Last night I tried my best to stay up for the royal wedding and made it until 4 a.m. The highlight of my evening was seeing David Beckham arrive and shopping online. I bought some capris and a few T shirts and sweaters. When I got up this morning {and watched videos of the wedding and cried a bit}, I did a little more shopping for bra's and undies. Can I say that online? I am just so excited about this trip I can't keep my mind straight. We haven't been anywhere since New Orleans lasts summer. [Image]This is me. I mentioned before that I was going to have my hair straightened with a keratin treatment. I had it done yesterday {it was painless], and I am loving it. The product is actually still in my hair...I can't wash it for 2 days. And I can't put so much as a bobby pin in it or it will leave a crimp. Now, this treatment is not the same as the Brazilian blowout, as some of you have asked. It is supposedly better and lasts up to 3 months. Then I am back to the Shirley Temple look. Some have asked why I would want to change. I guess we want what we don't have. And this is going to shave a lot of my getting ready time everyday. That really is what it is all about for me. [Image]These are the products I have to use. Did you know that clarifying shampoo gets rid of all the build up of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and pollution, and leaves your hair like new? News to me. I usually buy what is on sale.
Have I told you that I am meeting 2 fellow bloggers in Asheville? Penny from The Comforts Of Home and Penny of Lake Lure Cottage. Yes, two Penny's that live there. Penny on the lake has invited all of us for lunch and a boat ride. Isn't that sweet? I am so excited to meet both of these ladies, we are going to have so much fun.
Other than my shopping expeditions, not much else is new. Tomorrow we are definitely going to the lake as I have to get my bathing suit. It is supposed to be 74 degrees. I don't know if our boat has been dropped off yet from the marina where we store it over the winter. We also have 2 new additions to our shoreline this summer...kayaks! The Husband bought two last weekend. I really hope this helps me to get in shape for my son's wedding this summer. Fun times ahead.
I hope all of you have a nice, sunny, warm weekend! :-)

Jane...your hair looks great!
I love Old Navy for summer skirts and tops...One of my girlfriends made decorator pillows for her bedroom from a taupe and white enbroidered skirt that she found on clearance last fall...so O.N. can be considered as a place to shop for home decorating as well!
Have a lovely vacation! Safe travels!

Oooh, how very exciting. I have quite curly hair and have always wondered what it would be like to have straight hair permanantly. And now you get to try it out!!! I bet you'll be stroking your gorgeous new hair all day!!

Hi Jane, hope that you have a great vacation!
I have the Brazilian keratin blowout done abt every 6 weeks on my hair and love it! My hair is naturally pretty straight but living in So Fl it can get frizzy flyaways so that that really helps.

You are rockin' the straight hair, girlie! Looks good! Hope you have a wonderful trip. xo Sue

I'm really sad I won't be joining you and the two Pennys in Asheville - both are delightful gals and you will have such fun with them. If I wasn't going to the UK I'd be right up in our lovely NC mountains with you.
Have fun dear - and you'll look fabulous!
