Glad you are back. It sounds like your trip was restful and good to get away. It's always good to be back home. Your husband did good. Wow, it is rubbing off.....wish it would be.
Those birds are silly.....maybe they were too big to fit in the hole, hah.
Have a good time settling back in.

My dear Jane,
If hubby ever wants to let go of those stained glass windows .. I know a lady out in Bend Oregon who would love them! Good to know you enjoyed your respite .. also good to get back to reality.

You sound like me right now. Just got back from the beach and the house smelled musty from being closed up (only a week)! I think it was also because the A/C was turned up and not as cool. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I like all of the new things y'all found on your trip. I got a laugh out of the birds nest on top of the birdhouse. Hey, at least the birds knew it was a nesting spot of some sort though! LOL! Maybe they were too big for the opening.

Y'all found some great stuff! That's so typical with the bird house. I bought a bird bath & I think I've seen one bird in it. The prefer the waterfall in the pool.

Hi Jane, Is he planning on escaping to the lake to work a little more often being he has fixed himself a workspace? It is always glad to get home. We had a beautiful weekend to be outside weather wise. Rain and 66 degrees all day today. I will be anxious to see where you put your window. Have a great week. I am glad you are home. I can remember when we had our cottage that it was always fun to be there but also a treat to return home. Sounds like you guys had a good time away.

I like the hubs office space he carved out. Perfect and it doesn't take up too much room. Love the stained glass!!!!

Congrats on healthy eating. I really need to get back on my program. I have been off for a while and feel crummy about it. xo Diana

Its good to go but it's always good to come home. I love your windows! with a hint of turquoise. Since we got new windows I gave some of our old ones to a woman who has a shop of painted furniture, etc, and she fixed them up and sold them quickly. We were up in Chicago for a funeral on the weekend and enjoyed the deliciously chilly weather! It felt like fall.

Great to see Al's new career taking off - interior design, ha! ha! He did well - everything is fabulous.

Glad you're enjoying being home again - those cooler temps must be nice and the flowers are looking lovely.

Looks like a good cookbook - Mediterranean meals are the best - yes, even if it's just eating a fresh, juicy tomato over the sink - love that!!!

Love the stained glass and your other window too. We have collected a few ourselves and they can be used in so many places.
Your tomatoes look so good. I haven't had a delicious "real" tomato in so long. The grocery store ones are terrible.
That bird house is adorable. I guess the birds wanted the penthouse!

I love those stained glas windows he found!! Ohhh, I have visions and dreams of a home full of stained and leaded glass someday. ♥ And garden tomatoes! And gorgeous Petunias! Both homegrown tomatoes and simple Petunias are so overlooked, and they're both treasures of summertime to me. :)

Welcome home. :)

Welcome back home! I think I'm surprised as you are that your husband picked out the vintage desk and stained glass windows...I know how you've said he usually doesn't like that type of furniture! In any case, I love what he picked out and think it looks fantastic in your bedroom. And I can't wait to see what you do with that window you found. I have one...I've had it for years and haven't done anything with it except to prop it up against the fence every summer. It weighs a ton so I don't want to hang it anywhere.

The birdhouse...it's because only certain birds nest in boxes, such as chickadees and titmice. Your tenants are probably robins. :-)

Hi Janie Pooh! Hope you're getting some rest now that you're home. I know that smell. When we go off we set the air conditioning to a high temp and our house just smells old! Well, it is old! I had run out of candles and had to get some and put some sweet smell back in the air.
Thanks for popping in to see my little table.

Love the little birdhouse - anything red catches my eye.

Your husband's little work area is wonderful, but I am so jealous about your window - B E A U T I F U L ! ! !

I finally bought a weathered window this summer after looking for so long. I live in an area where the antique stores charge outrageous prices - some old windows at $800.

I am glad you found me so I can follow you.

As Dorothy said "there's no place like home"!
Your time at the lake sounds idyllic, watching the birds build their alternative accommodation must have been fun. Love the new work station, you must be thrilled that the husband is getting into antiques, too. No more driving past interesting little places now he'll be ready to brake whenever you yell "stop"!

Hi, I don't have a blog...I am a blog follow by email. Do you have a "button" where I can subscribe by email? I searched and searched on your page of August 31st and could not see one. Your home page looks so interesting and the receipes(sp) look and sound wonderful. I found you by way of "Must Love Junk" and "Junk Chic Cottage" referring to your blog.

If you could respond to my question I would appreciate it.
