Oh--I'm first?! What a fine post--and with only two fingers!

I am so glad you got the doctor to x-ray and get that arm "fixed"! Three fractures! I don't know how you dealt with the pain! You are a trouper, girlfriend!

Don't know why one of the pictures won't show up for me--but the others are beautiful, as usual. I think it was the one before the "windows" picture. I love the windows up in the family room, and I absolutely adore your new chairs and rug, too. I know you're going to really enjoy the "new den". Hope you find your cabinet soon.

All the pictures were lovely, anyway. Loved the fruit pictures, too. You should get a little print of that made and frame it.

I just sent you an e-mail, right before I checked here. Not as "up" as your posts and e-mails always are, I fear! (Wish I could "un-send" it now!) I need to take a course in "looking at things more positively" from you, my dear. :)

Please take good care when you drive with those little fingers poking out of that cast, Jane! Of course, it sounds as though you are already doing quite fine without any advice, especially from this old lady!

Take care, dear friend!
xxx Trudy <3

I am amazed that you were able to write such a nice post with just two fingers…your terrific. Your den looks great and I can't wait to see it when we have it completed. I'm sorry that you had to go through so much pain because of a wrong diagnosis…thank goodness that you are being properly cared for now. Please take care and don't do too much until you are completely healed.

Oh my Jane, I did not know about this because I've been lazy lately and not visiting all my favorite bloggers. I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with that awful cast, but it's for the best and I hope you'll heal quickly.

Stupid me, I was getting things out of the trunk of my new Jeep Renegade and shut it down on my head! I saw stars and blood was gushing everywhere! All I could think about was trying not to get blood all over my new vehicle trunk! I grabbed a quilt that I had thrown in and let the blood flow on it. I finally got some help, and 14 stitches later, a tetanus shot, a mild concussion and a few days rest, I was up and running.
Much like you I cannot stand to sit still, got to be on the go!
Love your new furniture and the windows on the wall.

Take care of yourself and keep healing.

hugs
Sissie

Oh my dear Jane, I didn't realize that you had broken your wrist. I must have missed that post. I have been so busy lately with sick people and friends dying, going here and there. My one dear friend has vertigo and cannot drive and she will call and say please take me somewhere I am going nuts in this house. So I go over and pick her up and we go shopping.
Plus I have been watching my neighbors daughter, Zoie (who I showed in my last post) as her mother is taking care of a friend that has kidney cancer and lives about 1 hr away. But I do love being helpful to people. I try to payback to people that need help. Everyone has always been so helpful to me. I know you are the same way - always a giving person.

I love the chairs for your den, they look very comfortable and I like the color. The chippy window frames look wonderful on the wall.

It is amazing how we can adapt when we loose something that is important to our way of life. You just pick up and go on and that sounds like that's what you are doing. Good for you! But you must take care of your self so you don't have problems later on.

The grilled fruit sounds so good. Peaches are my very favorite fruit of all. Peach cobbler, peach ice cream, fresh peach pie. Marie Callandar's should be having them soon. Yum yum. Do you hve those restaurants in the Chicago area?

Hope the Lake House is coming along well with all the work that they had to do.
Your flowers look amazing and I see Milo likes to check them out.
Take care of yourself Jane and have a wonderful week.
Hugs and get well wishes,
Mary

I can't believe how much you were able to type! Good job! :) I've thought the same thing about taking things for granted...sometimes I complain about doing laundry and then I stop and think how lucky we are to have a washing machine that does all the work for us! Can you imagine how cumbersome is was to wash everything by hand and hang it to dry? Yikes! I also get that way about grocery shopping. It's definitely a chore and takes a long time, but again, how fortunate we are to be able to afford to fill our pantry and fridge with all those goodies?! Anyway, take care of yourself and try to rest. I had to laugh at you wanting to go somewhere every day because I'm the opposite. I could stay here in my little cocoon all week long and be happy as a clam. Lol!

You are amazing, Jane! How are you managing to do so much with a cast on? I hope someone else cut up those peaches for you, which sounds delicious! We have a close friend who had to have her leg amputated just below the knee due to diabetes. She is hoping to get into a prosthetic soon, but has been able to do so much from her wheelchair. I think we are all pretty resilient, maybe more so than we realize; and we manage to adapt to most lemons that life dishes out. I hope you heal quickly and can get out of that cast very soon.

I can't believe you were able to go around for two weeks with a broken arm not casted...oh, the pain!
Love your chippy windows on the wall.
I like seagrass/jute/sisal rugs, too but unfortunately, I've had to give up on them in this house because of the cats and their umm...puking. We used to have a jute rug under the kitchen table and for whatever reason, my female cat loved to puke up her hairballs on that rug. It is so hard to clean up and left stains everywhere. I had to end up throwing the rug out.
I have seen pictures and recipes for grilled fruit in summer magazines for several years, but have never actually tried it. It's something I never remember! We don't grill often - especially now with Brian working the evening shift. Maybe that's why. But I would love to try grilled fruit, especially peaches. Sounds so good.
Back to your previous post...I love the dress you have picked out for Jeff's wedding.
And sounds like you had a wonderful time with your 4th of July party. I don't know how you did all that work with your broken arm! Your little granddaughter is a doll.

Wow, Jane, you're like iron woman. How did you manage with those fractured bones? So glad you went back. I know that the cast stinks, but at least you are on the mend. Two finger typing, huh? I'm pretty impressed. I hope you feel well now and you are back to 10 finger typing very soon! ;) ps- pretty lily! I spent the day deadheading mine. Fun!

You do more with broken bones and a cast than most of us without any issues, and that includes writing a post. Can't believe the doctors didn't give you the correct diagnosis. Actually, sadly I can.

I love grilling fruit, especially pinaepple and peaches, though I haven't done the later in a while. You just inspired me to do so.

The sofa and chair are pretty. The way you described the fabric sounds perfect,

I should follow you on Instagram, but truth be told I'm terrible with it. I really need to get with the program.

Good heavens, how did you get diagnosed with a sprain when you really had all those broken bones!? I would give that doctor a piece of my mind. Glad you finally got a good diagnosis though and are on the mend. The furniture is beautiful. I have become a big fan of light colored furniture because you can change the accessories at will for a totally new look. Is the new rug rough to walk on? I like the look but I really like something soft underfoot.

Jane, I hope your arm heals quickly and you get better soon. You sound like me, it takes more than a broken arm to slow you down. :) Love, love the new den. The windows on the wall are beautiful and your new chairs, gorgeous! I also love seagrass. I have two in my bedroom and one at the entrance of our home. The ones in the bedroom we had for years now and they still look brand new. I am thinking of purchasing some for my family room and breakfast area also. They do so well with heavy traffic. Get better soon!xoxo Maria

I was here the other day and commented and it didn't publish. Darn blogger. I have had that happen so much. Anyway, I was saying that I'm sorry about the breaks but I'm really happy you went back to the doctor and got the cast on so now the healing can begin! I don't know how you've done so much work, you are a tough girl!

I love your new chairs and the windows on the wall look great. It's fun to change things around once in awhile. I need to do that more often myself. I have been gathering stuff for a gallery wall but that's as far as I've gotten. Need to make myself get out the hammer and picture hangers and get to work!

Take care and I hope you heal quickly!

I agree, we take for granted so much in our day to day lives until something goes wrong. Gives us a new appreciation for those who live with disabilities of one kind or another. I appreciated your thoughts on this...but please take care of yourself and hope your wrist is soon healed!
On a lighter note, I adore the old frames you hung...they're just perfect and add so much interest to that wall!

Always fun to stop by and get caught up!

I love day lilies too! I also love the fact that apparently you can't kill them! I love hydrangea's but haven't had a lot of luck. I had one planted in the yard that didn't survive. Currently, I have one in a pot that I've kept alive for 3 years!! I bought it at Easter one year at Sam's & then put it in a pot. It's only bloomed once a year & only one big flower. Not ideal but at least it's alive! I cannot believe you've done all you have with those fractures! I hope it gets to feeling better soon.Love the club chairs! I keep hearing about grilling fruit but haven't thought to try it.
