My kids could water ski almost as soon as they could walk and our lake memories are some of our best. We never thought to get a load of sand!!!

Love your lake place, Janie! Good times in those pictures, but ouch about your poor hand! I used to water ski as a youngster and lived on the water in the summer. My aunt and uncle had a cabin on a lake, and we always loved swimming and fishing and skiing and having pillow fights and playing board games when it rained or at night. There wasn't a phone either! They went there to totally escape, and it was so much fun.

My dad bought a lightweight fishing boat for us to play in and hooked it up with a motor that was battery run. LOL! It was like a cake mixer. ;-) As we got older, the demand for fancy ski boats took over, and I ceased spending time at the cabin and opted for the bigger marina and reservoir where the ski boat was housed. But there is nothing like those summer memories! So glad you have such a great escape!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Are you familiar with Bay View? When my father was a tot in the early 1900's, his family would spend their summers there. I've got some wonderful photographs taken it Petosky at a studio there. :-)

Oh I want a lake house and a boat. And some really nice friends to go fishing with. Can I borrow yours?

It looks like a lot of fun - except for the hand injury :)

When I hit the mega-millions in the lottery I'm buying a lake house. I guess it would help if I bought a ticket now and then.

What wonderful memories you have given your children! My family had a beach house on Long Island -- it was magical -- we spent the entire summer there when I was a kid.

Your lake place also looks magical, and you can see the fun you have had there, just radiate from the pictures. Great post!

What a super fun summer home with lots of toys to play with. I bet your daughters have loved having their own beach and summer house! Such wonderful memories they will always have.
You hair reminds me of how I wore mine for over 30 years I was a bleached blond. My kids never knew my natural color and now my grandkids do not know me as a blond.
Loved your fun post. During this Summer it will be fun to see your pictures!

Hey, both of my sisters were in the windy city to day. They went clothes shopping. Anf of course shopping for shoes. One of my sisters took the train back home a couple of hours ago. They other sister stayed for a workshop. She's the mid-wife. She says it's started snowing. I hope you don't get as much as we have. I am so jealous. I want to go shopping in Chicago. Especially for shoes. I used to manage shoe stores. I was offered a job on States St. That was in the late 80's. I didn't accept the position. States Street scared me at the time. My family lives about 3 1/2 hours away from there. I am rambling!! LOL

To answer your question about Ross! Yes, I think they may be owned by the same company. Usually when I see a Ross store there's a Marshalls right next door or a TJMaxx!
