Gorgeous dress! You dhite case at the top is go oretty. Lots to comment in here.. enjoy planning the wedding, and congrats in NO sugar. That's not easy!! Have fun this weekend;)
The dress is gorgeous and I am sure you will look spectacular. Very sad about your front lawn. I suspect your old lawn service will be up in arms when they get the bill,. ;-)
Bored? No way! I love the details. The dress is very pretty and it would look great with straw wedges or with a white strappy sandal. A white jacket or a little white shrug with a bit of a self-ruffle would be nice too. I hope you're having fun through all this! I'm dying to see the photos from the wedding.
Jane - Sounds like you are in fine shape for the wedding! Your dress for the rehearsal is so cute. Sorry about the lawn. At least, the back yard is okay.
I know you have a crazy week ahead. Enjoy the festivities.
Love your rug! Now you need to show a picture of how it looks in the room as a whole! Also loving your dress...I need one like that for summer. You got it from The Gap, huh? I will have to take a look. And I think straw wedges would be perfect with that dress. Love the pic of your hubs and Abby - they both look great. Your yard...wow, didn't realize it was that bad. What a nightmare. If the company isn't returning your calls and you send them the new bill...good luck! Well, my dear, with all this craziness coming up with the wedding, make sure you take some relaxation time for yourself! xoxo
You are going to be cute in the dress, shoes and jacket, Blonde girl. Good luck with getting the 1st lawn group to pay for the second lawn groups work...I really think if the 1st was worth a fiddler's fart they would have notice grubs..they do owe you. Love the new rug. xoxo,Susie
That is going to be a HUGE wedding! :) But Oh, how much fun to have all those friends celebrating with them. Wonderful memories! Love the idea of adding the white jacket to that sweet little sundress. I am SO ready for Spring. Here in OK winter is just not ready to let go.
Hi Janie... love hearing all of the wedding plans, and also love your new rug and Milo!... your dress is darling, and yes, you should get some straw wedges to wear with it!... excited for all of you and can't wait to see the pics... so many happy things this month... Emily's wedding, Mother's Day, alot of birthdays in my family (including ME!)... sunny warms days FINALLY here... life is good!... xoxo Julie Marie
Enjoy this special time with your family. I have never heard of 16 bridesmaids! Emily obviously is a much-loved girl! I like your rug. Looks great! Love your dress too and you have the right idea of how to accessorize it. Have a wonderful week! Can't wait to hear all about it! xo Beth
You are INDEED a busy lady! Love your dress! Your Milo looked like my Lucy lying there on that gorgeous rug! Pace yourself! Thank you in advance for the great posts we have to look forward to!
Wow I've never heard of a wedding party quite that large. What a party they will have! Hope it all goes well and have a wonderful week anticipating after all your hard work. Have fun and savor every moment!
Jane, love hearing the details about Emily's wedding. Eager to see the photos of the big event. I know it will be beautiful and a special time. Love your blue dress!
First, I hope the wedding goes just beautifully for ya'll. Can't wait to see the pics from it because I bet it is just over the top awesome. Now, your Milo must be sooo much nicer than my little Sophie, because she thinks that every rug she see's is a gigantic puppy pad, and I will let you guess the rest...hence no beautiful rugs in our house.
I can't wait to see pics of the wedding!! Looking forward to hearing all the details too. :) I know what you mean about LL Bean...their stuff is great, but I hate to have to return something to them.(My kids have had the same LL Bean backpacks for over 8 years!)Loved seeing the cute pic of Milo! Your dress is pretty too. I think it's perfect for a rehearsal dinner. Good luck with your lawn! :)
Glad you got that pretty rug situation straight. I want to treat my yard for grubs because we have moles and they are here because of the grubs. We treat with some sort of bacilli in a spreader then water it in. That is a huge wedding party but kiddos do what they want pretty much. Just think grandkids in a few years, hugs, Olive
Love the sundress, Jane! I am going to have to check out Gap and maybe Old Navy for a dress. My son is graduating from college in June and I'm going to need something cool and casual but appropriate for the occasion.
Looks like Milo approves of your new rug, Jane! Wow, I didn't realize that Emily was having such huge wedding! That is alot of attendants! I bet you all are getting very excited. It is finally spring here too, I am so ready for it:)
Love the dress. I don't have one dress I like. Heavens, I don't think I even own a dress anymore! Good luck with everything. Too bad about the lawn. Companies just don't work like they use too. Love the rug! Brenda
Boy, you covered a lot of ground here, my friend, so let's see if I can respond to everything.
First of all, I can't believe those people trashed your yard. I would call a sod company and have it sodded. Forget the seed. And charge them for that. That is awful that they did this to you. I'm so sorry they put you through this. Grrrrr.
Milo is so cute on that rug, and your husband is so cute with your daughter. Love the new rug. Really great.
Love your dress, and yes, it will be very cute with the shoes you mentioned. The jacket sounds good, too.
Is the wedding already here? Wow!
Not to fear that Emily is the only one with a Disney production wedding. my cousin's daughter did the same thing, and it actually turned out okay with the bridesmaids. She had been in a lot of weddings, and she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. So, she had about 16 bridesmaids. It was a big church so it filled the front out nicely. LOL It's Emily's big day so she will always remember it as being her dream day come true.
Such a pretty dress and wow, that really is a lot of people in the wedding party. Sounds like the wedding planning is done, now for the fun Hugs, Marty
Lots of stuff going on at your house!! The wedding will be fabulous, and I can't wait to see the pictures! A shorkie is half Yorkie, yes. And half Shih Tzu. He is the new designer breed, so I found out when I looked him up. The pet store had a sign that they had them and I had no idea what they were either! But, I wanted to buy a puppy. I feel awful saying that because so many people rescue dogs. But I love him!! xxDaniella
Hi Jane. Did you check the dirt in your backyard for grubs? Just dig up a small spot and see if they are in there. It would be odd to have them in the front yard and not the backyard.
Love your sundress. It's more fun to me when it's a little casual like that. Have fun!
Jane, You have a lot going on but fun stuff so I am sure you are excited with the upcoming wedding. I love the sundress it will be adorable. Sorry about your lawn. Wow that is horrible to lose your lawn!!!! Have a great week. Kris
Lovin' your new rug Jane, it sure looks comfy! Bummer about the front lawn. I'd be upset too but I'm sure it will look great soon. Enjoy this week leading up to the wedding, don't work too hard:@)
Hi Jane, Wow..I can't believe how quickly the wedding is coming!!! Love your dress for the rehearsal and you will look beautiful in it! 16 bridesmaids...wow! But she will have some amazing stories to tell about her big day. And your rug is very pretty! Hugs friend, Cindy

OH... I'd be sooo upset about the yard, but at least things are underway to fix it.
What a HUGE wedding party! I hope the dresses are not every color of the rainbow like they would be in a Disney movie... or are they??
Hi Jane, Wow, I stopped by at an exciting time. Looks like you're getting ready for a wedding, I can't wait to hear more. Love your dress. Leslie (aka Gwen Moss)
I am so excited! I LOVE weddings, my Great-Nephew is getting married in August and they are preparing just like your are! It is so much work but so worth it:) Keep enjoying it as I know you will! Pretty flowers:) Have a blessed and productive week! HUGS to you my friend!
You sound so calm with the weddingso soon. You will look so nice in that dress. When things are planned well you can be calm. it will get crazy the couple of days before but crazy fun. Enjoy it all and have a great fun. Can't wait to hear all about it. Can put some turf down for the wedding. That's sad. You have your house all beautiful and then that happened. But everyone will understand. Have a great wedding.
Your rug is beautiful!! I wouldn't be too happy about a yard like yours right in front either. Wow, it's countdown to the wedding. Please make sure you're able to take it all in and enjoy it!!!! Mary Alice
Oh all of the activities surrounding the wedding are wonderful. I adore your dress Jane! All of those in the wedding party...the photos will be amazing!
Wow, you have a busy week ahead. Your rug is lovely, lawn, not so much. Oh well, nothing you can do about it... Can not wait to see your pics & make sure you have someone take some of you in that cute dress. AND then the wedding, make sure that there are some pics of you... (I don't think I saw any of you in Kevin's wedding :) I will be thinking about you ... Have a really fun week... slow down & enjoy it!!
:D I like large wedding parties. I think Emily and Mike are blessed to have so many friends who love them and want to stand-up fro them!
Happy for y'all in the Midwest 'cause winter has come back to the South....in the forties here this morning and we almost FROZE at the horse show over the weekend!
LOVE the area rug, Jane. It's so pretty! I love the creamy white color and the blocks!
Wow, the wedding is almost here! I can't believe it. Time flies.
So THE BIG DAY is finally upon us! Weddings are so exciting. This one sounds like the wedding of all weddings with that list! Do remember to take pictures and share.
Enjoy it, Jane!
Oh, I think the dress, jacket, and shoes you mentioned sound perfect.
With all the excitement of the day, I'm sure no one will even notice your front lawn. Your little sundress looks adorable and would be so cute with the jean jacket. I really liked your shoes and those cute floral jeans from you last post, too! It seems like only yesterday, you were just starting to plan this wedding event, and now it's upon you! Try not to freak out and just enjoy yourself!
Enjoy this time with your daughter...it's a day girls dream about all through their growing up years. Such fun for Mom too! It sounds like your house is going to look just beautiful.....and the dress...so pretty. Be sure to post a picture of yourself...wearing it. Thanks for all your prayers and concern for our family. I really treasure our online friendship. Have a wonderful wedding. Balisha
It is coming down to the wire isn't it! Love that dress and your carpet looks fab-u-lous as well. Enjoy every moment Jane and good luck with the new lawn crew. xo
I think straw sandals will be fantastic with that cute dress.
That's awful about the lawn. We've had alot of problems with finding reliable people for landscaping and snowplowing. And you really can't go without snowplowing.
Gosh, can I just say that I'm so glad that I didn't have a girl? LOL! It looks like a ton of work to plan a wedding. I guess thats why my mom hired a wedding planner for mine. I love the cute dress you're going to wear to the rehearsal dinner. I know you must be relieved that the wedding is almost here. Now you can put all of your plans into action. Looking forward to seeing pics from the big day!
I love the dress...any cute sandal as long as it is comfortable would be great. I'm so sorry about your yard. That is how our entire yard looked after the drought, but ours was really just burned and with all this rain, the good thing is our yard is green and lush again. Of course it squishes when we walk!
I love hearing all the wedding stuff, so keep it coming and keep calm!
Jane, what a wonderful time! Have such fun. I can't believe her bridesmaids and groomsmen! I had a hard enough time finding something for 4 to wear.
Your outfit sounds perfect and so easy to use all summer too. Yes, we have been dieting too - it just doesn't want to budge. I am hoping to lose some in the bust - but alas, that is always my last to go....It isn't much fun blogging when you aren't making treats and I spent too much time tonight on Pinterest, pinning goodies - you can tell it is killing me!
16 bridesmaids! OMG. Lord help! I've never heard of so many. I do love your dress. It will be perfect. I tried to comment on your pretty tulips last week and it wouldn't bring up this form. They were so pretty...I keep thinking about them. Keep calm and enjoy this week. Soon you can rest!! And it is a sweet rest after a wedding!
enjoy the wedding plans..have FUN!!! everyhting will be great! we had a contractor do half of our patio and then LEFT!!! my goodness...it was a mess, and took 2 months to find someone to finish it. now I check references!
So exciting for you Jane! The wedding week is upon you. Congratulations to Emily and her husband-to-be and have a wonderful time celebrating!!

[Image]I'm celebrating spring...I think it's finally come to the Midwest. Well, I'm pretending anyway. We have some sort of flowering bush next to our front steps and the fragrance is blowing in through the windows...I wish I could bottle it! I have a busy weekend ahead of me, a busy week, so I'll dispense with the weather report, I think we can all agree that we're going directly from winter to summer!
[Image]First off, I received my area rug for the living room. The dogs took to it right away, sniffing and rolling and stretching out on it. Milo looks like a polar bear in a snowstorm! You might remember the debacle I went through at the post office returning the wrong size. Well, after a week I called LL Bean to see if they had received it yet (and did they credit my account) and I got some mumbo jumbo about it taking 3-4 weeks. Well, let's just say that after I told them I really wanted the credit so I could order a larger rug...shazamm, I got an email and we were good to go. Nothing against LL Bean, I love them and both times my rugs were delivered within 5 days. And I love it...so soft and thick.
[Image]Now, to mix a little bad with the good, here is my front lawn thanks to our wonderful lawn service (this is turning into Consumer Reports). Apparently we got some grubs last summer that slowly ate the grass and the lawn service did not treat it. Actually, we thought we were in bad shape because of the drought, but they came out a few weeks ago and said the lawn was gone and they would rip it out and reseed it. That's the last we heard from them. We've had this service for almost 7 years and they are widely used in our neighborhood. They just won't return our calls.
[Image]Last week I hired a nice, small company that is going to start the work Monday. Then we plan to send the bill to the old service. It's obviously going to be a sore sight to see for awhile and it saddens me that we won't be able to get wedding pictures in front of the house, but the backyard is fine. Anyway, I need this like a need a hole in my head.
[Image]My week actually wasn't that busy. I went for another dress fitting Tuesday. The seamstress, Maria, is incredible. It was big in the neckline and shoulders and she just pulled that up and pinned it and the dress took on a whole new look. I hate to jinx things but I think I actually saw a bit of my waist. Shhhhh! I've gone 3 weeks without sweets except some cookies yesterday for good behavior, so maybe I lost 1/16 of an inch. I think I may have lost some of my boobs, too. That's only because I got some new bras and the Gods do not want them to fit. Anyway, I did a little here and there around the house all week and after a long day downtown yesterday, Abby met me and The Husband at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. I'm working on her bedroom, too, as the bridesmaids will be using it for a dressing room. She cleaned and organized (and found some birthday presents from 2 years ago) and I have a new dust ruffle, pillow shams and rugs to finish it up with.
[Image]The rehearsal and dinner is Wednesday night. The dinner is actually at a more casual place than my son Kevin's was at. I ordered this sundress from Gap and I'm going to wear a white jean jacket with it. I was thinking of some straw wedges for shoes, hmmmmm...what do you think? This dress will be great for the summer when we take little trips to small towns around the lake...it will go from day to night. And it's navy, not black.
[Image]I had to throw this in, it's not as if you can read it, but it gives you an idea of the wedding party Emily and Mike have. Yep, this whole page. This is the church program. 16 bridesmaids and 16 groomsmen, 2 junior bridesmaids, 4 flower girls and 3 ring bearers. The Husband thinks Emily is nuts, I think she saw too many Disney movies!
I'm hoping to post after the rehearsal so that I don't have to mix that into a post with the wedding, which is Friday. I hope I'm not boring all of you with this. A week from now all in Blondie's world will be back to some sense of normalcy. I hope.
Have a great weekend! :)
XO,
Jane

OH... I'd be sooo upset about the yard, but at least things are underway to fix it.
What a HUGE wedding party! I hope the dresses are not every color of the rainbow like they would be in a Disney movie... or are they??

Enjoy every moment. And, I love your new header.

Wow, you have a busy week ahead. Your rug is lovely, lawn, not so much. Oh well, nothing you can do about it... Can not wait to see your pics & make sure you have someone take some of you in that cute dress. AND then the wedding, make sure that there are some pics of you... (I don't think I saw any of you in Kevin's wedding :)
I will be thinking about you ...

May 6, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Hope the wedding goes off without a hitch!

Best of luck this coming week. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, liz

Sounds like a fun time.

WOW!! I don't know if I could've come up with 16 close friends/family to be in my wedding. HAHA! I love the dress. You can do so much with it.
May 7, 2013 at 12:56 PM

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!

All the wedding planning will be worth it ... can't wait to see pictures of that beautiful bride.
Always love your posts Jane!
Blessings!

May 8, 2013 at 11:49 AM
