Hi Jane! Love your patriotic scenes and glad you were able to get some gardening in even in thes heat. Happy 4th to you, Shelia ;)
Love the happiness sign Jane. The heat is getting to me too and we were crazy enough to go to the zoo today and my eyes are sunburned. Have a happy, happy 4th. xoxo, olive
Isn't summer grand?! Sounds like you've been having some great times up at your lake house. Love your Fourth of July decor - that's one holiday I don't bother decorating for. (Probably would if I knew I was having company.)Your daisies are awesome - bet they make a beautiful bouquet!
Sounds like a fun week-end and lots of celebrations. Our 4th starts tomorrow. 3 days of parades, rides, fair food and fun. I personally hope to spend time in the A/C. The last few days were way too much for me. 1/2 of my Colorado kids are coming. S we may have to venture out. Have another good week-end.
It sounds like a perfect weekend to me- Your table looks darling, too. I love that you could see the fireworks from your balcony. I hope that we can see them from the city this year. They fire them off downtown over the water and we are about 4 miles away on the water...so we will see, I guess.
I have a house full coming...and am looking forward to it- xo Diana
Look at those daisies, Jane! I love them. I'd probably cut the bushes bare filling the house up with them! Love that sign, too, with the sand and sunburn quote.
Hi Jane, Your time at the lake sounds like fun and fireworks over the water, I bet were beautiful. We won't get together with the family until the weekend and then maybe hubby will feel a little better. I don't know which one of your centerpieces I like best because I like them both. You always do such a good job and your daisies are so pretty. My yard is getting brown and haven't cut it for three weeks, but I am not going to water, instead spend it on the light bill and keep the house comfortable. Neither of us handle the heat and it has been horrible. They showed storm damage in Chicago on the news are you anywhere near there? Have a great 4th of July. Hugs Your Missouri friend.
Isn't so busy trying to get ready for a holiday! Your table centerpiece is so pretty and festive! Hope you and your family have a blessed and Happy Fourth! Miss Bloomers
Jane, I envy you having the lake house to kick back and relax for the 4th. All your red, white, and blue touches are great. I like to do that on our sun porch for the summer months and a bit here and there around the house. No fireworks from the balcony for us though. Happy 4th! ~ sarah
Glad you are able to enjoy the outdoors. It is so hot here I have been housebound for going on two weeks. I only go to the store at seven in the morning and am back in with the drapes drawn andthe air cranked up!
Happy Fourth of July my friend!... all of your decorations are so cute, and I love your new beach sign... Happy Birthday to your hubby too!... xoxo Julie Marie
Happy Fourth of July, Jane! Don't you love the midweek holiday, we get to party for two weekends in a row? Looks like your family is having a great time and I love the centerpiece...
A lovely table setting and all the other decor looks beautiful too. I love daisies! I could have them everywhere myself. Glad you've had a good time but girlfriend, please use the sunscreen! :)
Sorry I haven't been around much lately...two friends were very ill and then passed away. It's been very difficult.
The triple digits are normal here but I'll never thoroughly enjoy a Texas summer. Just too brutal! I'm amazed at the areas that are so very hot ~ just horrid isn't it?
Your display of red, white and blue is so festive! How lucky to have such a great view for the fireworks. Ours aren't until this weekend during Sailfest.
Oh what a festive week! Happy Birthday to the HUBS! It looks like you all have been having a wonderful celebration! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
Sounds like you had a wonderful 4th. Lucky you to be able to view the fireworks from your balcony! I like both of your centerpieces, but I really love polka dots!!
Sounds like you've had alot of fun activities going on. Happy Birthday to your husband! I think the heat combined with alot of festivities can make anyone tired. I've sort of felt the same way lately too. I wish we would have a good rain storm with some light wind to cool things off.
You are lucky to have a lake home, especially with this heat. I'd be in or near the water all the time in hopes to get relief. Today is the only day we've had in weeks that wasn't 100 degrees or right up there at it. I like the centerpiece with the table runner and all the patriotic touches around your house. No cookout for us yet, which is the normal way we celebrate the 4th. My brother is coming home next week for his birthday celebration, so we decided to just do everything then.
Hi Jane, What a fun week! It looks like you all had a wonderful time! You are such a great hostess. Everything is so festive and I bet the food was wonderful! :)
Hope you had the best time at the lake Janie ~ love the red, white and blue. I was decked out in red & white and celebrating the maple leaf ~ loving me some summertime!
You worked in everything the 4th of July has to offer! I think it is one of my favorite holidays. Your decorations are so festive!

[Image]Happy 4th of July all! Well almost. It seems the whole weekend was a celebration with company and cookouts and fireworks and don't forget the hamburgers and hot dogs! All things American! I fiddled with my table and couldn't decide on a centerpiece I liked better, so here are the two I narrowed it down to. I keep all my July 4th things in a cabinet in the garage. Apparently The Husband moved most of it to a shelf in the shed, "Jane's Gardening Stuff". Sneaky guy!
[Image]I think I like the runner better. Milo wore the scarf the rest of the weekend.
[Image]We got up to the lake Friday night and stayed until this morning. Abby dropped in from a nearby lake where she was spending the weekend and we had a few friends on and around the lake pop in...otherwise, not near the 27 people we hosted last year!
[Image]We played in the garden and although we had a little rain twice, everything was watered over and over due to the 90 plus temps. I managed to sit outside or in the Summerhouse when we weren't playing with the lake toys, but I finally succumbed to the heat yesterday and stayed in most of the day. This heat wave seems to have no end in sight.
[Image]This is a little sign I bought last weekend in Galena. I did get a little burned on the boat and a few new freckles (bad me...no sunscreen). Otherwise I stayed out of the sun.
[Image]I had to take a picture of the daisies blooming. And I filled vases with them for every room! We definitely have an abundance of them!
[Image]This pic is out of order...I had a little bit of the red, white and blue everywhere!
[Image]I wanted to show you the bottle holder I bought in Galena also. I'm not sure yet where I am going to keep it. It will be great for parties when everyone is drinking something different.
[Image]Yesterday was The Husband's birthday. We celebrated with steaks and clams and potato salad and corn on the cob. Yum! He always has such a festive birthday.
Saturday night we watched the fireworks out over the lake from our balcony. I recently started to fix up the balcony, which is off of our bedroom, a nice rug and bistro table so far. We had the best seat in the house! I can't seem to take night pictures with my camera so you will just have to imagine how beautiful it looked (the sky!). Milo was a little frightened, he sat and my side and I petted him. Layla investigated every corner of the balcony...new territory for her.
Today I am dragging. Our section of town has a parade tonight and fireworks and tomorrow night we are going to a barbecue. It makes me tired just thinking about it...but give me 5 minutes!
Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. Happy 4th of July to all!

Would love to be spending the fourth at a lake. Enjoy, I will live vicariously through you.
I have just the one day off so will not wander far. Actually there is a lake in the next town and fireworks as well. Think I will attend.
