I am so sorry to hear about Milo's passing. What a great little dog and companion for you! Our dog, Duke, was put down yesterday. He fought a brave battle against lymphoma. He was only 5 yrs. old. Our vet was so upset. He said that in his 30 yrs. of practice that virtually nothing has been done about treating cancer in dogs. He also said that he is seeing more of it and in younger dogs, too. I am glad that you are taking a break. This is time needed for your healing.

Oh honey!! I'm so sorry to hear this! These past couple of years have been so hard on Milo and all of you who loved him. I know you are more than "just a little unsteady"!! I can only say that I've lost an animal that we had when our kids were young, and be was like our third child, and the kid's sibling! He was so loving and so loved. I know youall did absolutely everything for Milo that could possibly be done, and loved him with everything you had. So, I'm praying that after awhile, the hurt will lessen, and you will be able to smile at all the memories! The song is perfect -- I hadn't heard it. There's a song called "Supermarket Flowers", by Ed Sheeren that reminds me of the early morning that my Mama died, and so much of it reminds me of her and there's a line,.."Hallelujah, you were an angel in the shape of my mum." Jane, we lost our lab, Maggie last year. It was a very hard time for us. We never thought we'd get another dog. Going to a lab rescue we found our new dog, Nori. She is our first adopted dog. She definitely makes us happy now. Thinking of you at this hard time. Love, Jody

Jane, I'm so very sorry to read this. I always had a special spot in my heart for him after losing our little Milo in 2017. Our little one and his twin Otis would both have been 15 on Monday and it was such a hard day for me. I miss them so much and I know you will your Milo for a long long time. Forever.
You tried so hard to give him the best days he could have to the very end.
Please take care and give yourself space to mourn, they so are worth it.
Jane so sorry to read this. Our Beau is now 8 1/2 and our previous lab lived to be 14. Nothing harder than losing your best friend. We waited too long to get another dog. I would highly recommend it does help with the pain.
