My great grandmother taught a Upper Stone, and my grandparents showed me the school about 40 years ago. While resembling this school, the location was different. I remember the school being beside the Cedar River (or some body of water) in a valley instead of by the side of rural road. I tried to find it last year and drew a complete blank using Google Earth and Maps. Would anyone know the a stone school that is in a location such as I've described? I'd love to find it again.

I'm sure there were likely to be more than one "Upper Stone School. This one is in Benton County and not near the any water.

It was definitely in Benton County. My great grandmother's name was Jennie Brumwell, and she married James Brumwell, one of her students. Thanks for your prompt reply!

This was in Benton Township. Yours must have been a different township.
