Oh, we do that all the time with the pvr. We're watching something and we forget that it's not recorded and we push the fast forward and nothing happens. So we push it again and nothing happens. Then we push it again and look at the remote - then look at each other, *duh*, oh yes, it's not recorded.
The perfect thing to do though, is every time either one of you goes to the washroom or has to get up for a second or something is to put the show on pause. After you do that, then when the commercials come on you can just fast forward past them.
Yes, sing the baby her bedtime song, come back and be able to skip past the night's commercials.

It's been awhile since I wrote something here. There is not a lot happening on this side of the keyboard.
Mariska has been teething and we now know better what it is to have a baby that wakes up during the night. Fortunately it only lasts a few days and then life gets back to normal. She is now also sitting straight up too and yesterday she had her first (rice) cookie and she had no problems chewing it.
I have also been playing with Flickr account, which I want to use for my non-personal pictures. I now also have an automatic script on my computer that makes back-ups at night. And at the end it shuts my machine down. Yes, it's pretty nerdy but this way I at least get something out of the power that my pc is using when I forget to shut it down when I go to bed. On top of that, I at least know that my pictures are being backed-up very regularly.
Last weekend some friends came over and they took the Wii with them. Guess what, Catherine was really in to it and I don't remember seeing her play any video game ever. But the game play is pretty impressive. It really is pretty easy to play a game whether it is bowling, tennis or golf. People were joking about the Wii before it was released but it is a winner.
Finally, we got a PVR a few weeks ago and we both love it. It has completely changing our TV viewing behavior. We now automatically want to press the skip-30-seconds button every time there is a commercial which can be a problem when we are watching a program 'live'. But the PVR is great. I can now watch the news at 10 for 10-15 minutes and then start watching CSI NY and still be done by 11. It's so easy to use. Certainly something I would recommend people.
I guess I did have something to write in this space.
