I'd have to agree. Many times after reading Calvin & Hobbes I find one particular comic that is so intensely funny that I can't stop laughing. And then I read it again and I can't stop laughing. No matter how many times I read it, it is just too funny. Sometimes the faces they make are just too amazingly funny.
For me it's between early Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes.
I do admire what Bill Watterson did in bringing art back to the Sunday comics, as described in the Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book.

[Image] The all time best cartoon strip ever is Calvin and Hobbes[Image]! Some will say The Far Side[Image] is best and it is indeed a superb comic, but the social commentary and imaginative mayhem of Bill Watterson just tips the balance for me. What do the rest of you think?

Calvin & Hobbs was good. But the best comic-strip ever was Bloom County/Outland.

I'll have to check that one out. I don't think I've seen it.
Anyone else got a favorite cartoon?
