@Anon I think he means it is BS that instead of paying a fine and being ordered to fix it, they actually had to lose a weekend of business.

Though there may be more to the story here...

new boss same as the old boss. frozen cars ticketed, a long established restaurant which pays countless taxes shuttered for the weekend. will mayor de blase yo subsidize the workers who didnt earn any money this weekend?

hows that non-tax paying halal cart faring? closed ?

I agree making them lose a weekend's worth of business is unduly harsh punishment. Having said that, the places along 2nd Avenue with outdoor seating, eg. Mary Ann's, Frank's, Haveli, Virage plus the guy selling hats and sun glasses next to Stage are occupying an ever increasing width of the sidewalk. Adding planters to shield the patrons from passersby further exacerbates the situation. As an aside, I've never seen anyone lunching / brunching / munching whose face I recognized from the neighborhood. I realize that's not a valid criteria, just a personal observation. As always, some of you may disagree with me.
