This makes me so sad. I fear for this stretch of Ave C. First Dukes, now Bite Me Best. I always craved their three mushroom farfalla with sherry sauce and the garlic knots. So yummy, and reasonably priced. That 99c place up the block is disgusting. Fake food.
Huge bummer for all the kids that play at the community garden across the street. And their parents, too.

Fuck one dollar pizza!! If this keeps up it will be the only pizza in town!! BMB was out of my zone but my old friend Danny who lived on Ave C swore by it.

This past weekend, Bobby Williams took photos of work/renovation happening at Bite Me Best pizza on Avenue C near East Ninth Street...

...and yesterday, things at the always-reliable pizzeria looked more ominous, as this photo by Andrew Adam Newman on Ave C shows... the signs are gone, and it looks rather stripped...

The phone number has been disconnected. Perhaps this was inevitable with the new (seemingly always crowded) 99-cent pizza place opening up across the way in January ...
