By BEING there, you're not being sensitive to the community. Oh wow this just hurts.

I was lured to the 13th Step once for cheap beers.

I found it to be the worst bar I've ever had the misfortune of drinking in.

It's pathetic that being a thriving business and serving the neighborhood are mutually exclusive these days.

Just be sure give it an appropriate name, like The Vomitorium or the Douche Haus.

For what it's worth:
I patronize The 13th Step about two or three times a month, but only between 11:30am and 3pm. Although some of my friends try to ridicule me for that, I appreciate the fact that I can have several 1/2 price bar drinks plus a generous helping of comfort food for a $ 20.00 tab. The staff is extremely accommodating and nice. I prefer to conserve my energies for causes more worthwhile. Additionally, don't you folks recognize that without those places, the "undesirables" might congregate in your favorite Pub. Now go on and snicker...

Uncle Waltie, I get your point but your post has a distinct Vichy smell. Or is it Uncle Louis Renault?:)

You know Eddie 2:09pm, we're talking about a local sports bar, like it or hate it. To introduce a WW 2 analogy into this topic is kind of dumb.

These owners shouldn't open any bars in the EV, we moved here to get away from the suburban, chainstore, uncool squares and their douchebag ilk. Stay uptown where you belong! Listen to your bad music, go to Adam Sandler movies, slap each other high-fives, talk in outdated hip-hop lingo, wear your flip flops and be douchey somewhere else!
