The Trans Atlantic Model team has successfully flown an 11 pound model airplane 903 miles across the Atlantic. Unmanned planes have made the trip before.
If a bunch of (admittedly veteran and well -educated) enthusiasts can do this on a very moderate budget, why do the DOD's UAVs cost so much?
