I don't really love any award shows, but I do love the red carpet, "Who are you wearing?" stuff. We don't ask that question enough in normal daily life.
I heard on the radio this morning that there was some sort of big incident with Gary Busey last night on the red carpet that was televised but they didn't say what it was. Does anyone have the scoop?
LOL - I really don't like any of them either. But I did see a really cool thing with Coolio and Stevie Wonder on teh Grammy's years ago so I voted for that one.
Marty and the Coens also. I have seen all but one Coen brother's films. They are wierd but brilliant. I just read Ethan Coen's book 'Gates of Eden'. It is a bunch of short stories. Also, I recommend the book 'No Country for Old Men' by Cormac McCarthy. The book is great but it is one of those rare cases where the film is actually better. Thanks to Javier Bardem as the psycho killer.
Dude - the weekend was pretty good. I was just tired from staying up a little late both nights. The kids were well behaved and seemed to have a good time. I even got to see some people I haven't seen in years. No really huge stories to tell. I have a few observations that I will share on thursday but nothing earth shattering. It was a good event.
I rarely watch them because they are SO long and drawn out! Drives me nuts. Can they just read us the list of winners and be done with it? But, I am adhd, so that could have something to do with.
I like the MTV Video awards cause at least they stimulate my brain!
The Grammys are always a little more laid back, while all the other award shows are so boring and uptight. I've never watched the country awards or the MTV awards, so I could be wrong.
I love to watch the Oscars b/c of the glamour and the "who are you wearing" Joan Rivers show. I love how she slams people. Although, have you seen her lately? Who is she to talk about what looks good? Ewww!
However, last night I was too wupped from the weekend of drama (otherwise known as "Youth Group Oscars") to care. I took a nice relaxing bath with a yummy glass of wine. Ahhhh....bliss.
I prefer the music award shows because you get to see performances, and some of the collaborations are good.
I saw the Gary Busey thing. Basically, Jennifer Garner was being interviewed, and Gary came up to her and said Hi, gave her a big hug. Then, instead of kissing her on the cheek, he kissed her on the neck. She was a little taken aback by it, but seemed OK, handled it well.
Yes, we all spent an hour cleaning up including mopping the floor. THEN...when I got back after teaching Confirmation I came home to the boy making himself waffles just b4 dinner and flour all over aforementioned clean floor!!!!!!!! Hence the need for 2 glasses of wine with the bath.
Also, my 'puter is pissing me off b/c it keeps bumping me off which is making it difficult to post my rants. Hmmm, may need more wine tonight.
And Apple - Good grief waffles before dinner YIKES! Sorry the house was a mess...and sadly you predicted it.

After a one week absence the weekly poll returns this week. Nothing really controversial, but I figured that with the Oscars being last night we could ask who your favorite awards show is. Please take a moment to cast your vote and may the best show win!
If you like something not on the list then just vote "other" and post what it is in a comment.

I tried to watch the Oscars last night, but was bored out of my mind.
I have no idea about the Gary Busey fiasco, have you tried YouTube?

I voted for "Other". Specifically, the Adult Video News (AVN) Porn Awards. May the best, hot, chick on chick scene win. Cheers!!
