Don't base your goal on a sports team. Maybe set a goal of 125 miles. This increases what you did last year. Also does mini-Doc have a trike or a little bike to ride along beside you? This will have the two of you spend time together, wear him out, and incorporate exercise at a young age into his health. If not a wagon is a fantasic investiment if you don't already have one. :)

I may try to do this too!

Chick - Oh the sports team thing is kind of my motivation... It keeps me interested in the Bobcats as well as my walking... It's a must.

Mini-Doc gets plenty of excercise... lol and I do most of my walking during my lunch hour here at work and at the gym track on Saturdays.

you should do some sort of challenge like this... We could both give weekly updates...

I think that's a fantastic motivational choice. Maybe I should try to come up with something. I just don't care about any particular team enough to use sports.

LOL @ Dana

Knight - I say find your motivation in something you will not only enjoy but keep up with.

If I did this using the Spurs I would have to adjust the numbers a bit. They won 50 games last year. Hey, that's a nice round number to work from! 2.5 miles per win would be 125 miles. Just like Disaster Chick recommended.

But, wait. I see one flaw here. If I pledge to walk 2 miles for each win, won't I start rooting for them to LOSE? hahaaha ;-)

To be healthier and better shape you need to do a life style change...not just a short term goal!
