Oh, should Uncle Sam ever grace us with our refund while the kids are away at camp husband and I might sneak off for a mini vacation which will most likely be camping.
We've got two vacations planned this year, one with all six of us flying to San Antonio, and one with just Cam and I driving to Washington State (still cheaper than flying). Both vacations involve visiting family so other than travel expenses,, the cost is fairly low.
Were heading up to New England to a huge gathering of old friends 08-08-08 and we'll stay with family. Not really a vacation, more of a big visit! I think people up north should think hard about spending to much this summer, lest you forget how much it's going to cost you to heat your house this winter.
Well, technically I will be doing many of these things although only one is considered vacation. Hubby and I will be taking the Chiles up to WI to stay with the grandparents for a month. So that is visiting family. However, I don't necessarily deem that a vacation b/c I won't get to do anything "fun" such as visit different places. I am taking a group of youth on a mission trip to PA also which will include a fun activities like a theme park. Hubby and I might get a little time to ourselves amidst all the running around so that may be the only actual vacation!
I'm getting my friends and family to come visit me here at the beach for long weekends. I'm sneaky and cheap like that :) There's a family reunion in MA at the end of Aug as well (catching a ride w/Mama G...and the cheap goes on...)
I'll probably try to combine business with pleasure. I'm heading to DC at the end of August for business. Will probably take in some sights while I'm there.
Then, in the fall, I have a conference in New Mexico during the balloon festival.
Dana, I'm sure you'll have fun in San Antonio. I loved it there when I went a year or so ago. Make sure to go to Dick's Last Resort on the River Walk. I had a blast!
We are taking several small RV trips and one car trip because the RV is too costly for the short trip. What will be doing on all these trips? That is right trapshooting; PULL!
STOOOOOPPPPPPPPP making me feel so jealous! It's Winter here..lol... No holidays/vacation for me at this time of the year..

Currently our fireplace (coonara) is blazing and it's freezing outside but will it rain?... Ohhhhh no, even though we desperatly need it over here (rain). I guess you all are up with our current water situation and all... lol... no didn't think so....
I am taking my boy toy to the Bahamas for a week. We leave this Saturday. Finally!!

Now that it's June and we are moving into a summer mode I was wondering what everyone was doing for vacation. What are you doing this summer with gas prices sky high? Are you even going on vacation? What are your travel plans? Where are you going? I created a small list and posted them but please feel free to tell us what you are doing even if it's not listed. Vote for as many as you want.

I prefer going away in the fall. Usually visit friends in Boston.
Summer vacation is usually just a weekend at AC or maybe some time right here on the lovely Jersey Shore.
When you run your own business it's hard to get away.
