Nope, the news hasn't changed much while you guys slacked away from the bloggerhood. You better come up with some more contests, I gave all my prizes to the needy.
I remember that shooting at the Luby's. It was so stunning. Sure, the food isn't that good there, but damn, that was a bit of an overreaction if you ask me. ;-)
I first heard the name Killeen Texas when I researching for my MIL the secret work her Brother did in the Army weay back in the day, oh yah the internet is so cool for that kinda stuff.
I remember the Luby's thing. People are just effing crazy. That's all I can say. Just bonafide effing crazy.

[Image] Among all the other thoughts I had last night while trying to digest and make some sort of sense out of the senseless tragedy was "oh my gosh not in that town again." I distinctly remember that back when I was in college there was another sensless mass shooting in this small Texas town. As a matter of fact it's probably the only reason I am even aware there is a town byt the name of Killeen Texas. I looked it up this morning and I was correct. 23 people were killed on October 16, 1991 when a 35 year old named George Hennard drove his truck into Luby's cafeteria and began firing after watching the movie The Fisher King. Before the Virginia Tech shootings this was the single largest mass killing in US history. Killeen Texas has certainly seen more than it's share of tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Killeen and at Fort Hood this morning. I just hope that the media won't rush to judgement in this case and let the authorities do their jobs.

It was shocking and painful to hear. Prayers for that community and the families whose lives will never be the same.
I will also say a prayer regarding the death of Col. Clifford James Crews that you mentioned in the below post.
