Not only do I NOT get to go to the all star game, but I also DO NOT get to hang out with Mt Cat because he' going to be off reading and relaxing while I'm stuck at work.
Karen, Parade?? Oh yeah that thing. I may take a peek. hee hee. Hey where's your entourage? I thought you said they loved me? We need more warped people to visit YGAKOBT.
Dude, that looks like the mascot from our high school!
Are you reading Daniel Silva? Good Stuff!
BTW - I suggest you join the Harry Potter August quest with me... REad all seven of the books during August like I do... Seriously - if you read even the first one you will probaly be hooked.
Mt. Cat - my peeps have the link. I know somone will wander over here for the the Tuesday news article.
Doc - I am actually considering reading the first Harry Potter book. I have never read or seen the movies, but a lot of my friends love it. I just think I will be turned off by the "fantasy" of it all. I guess it is worth a try.
Vin... I knew you would come up with something silly like that.
Karen... My thoughts EXACTLY however last August I picked up the first book and was hooked. The thing is that there isn't really any "fantasy" aspect of it... It's all presented in a very matter of fact way and it's not hokey. I strongly suggest you read the first book... Now I will say that the first two books are not as intense as they start to get once you get into the third book and going forward... and the first two are quicke reads. I promise once you get halfway through book 3 that there is NO WAY you can put them down until you have finished the seventh. (and don't think you can just watch the movies because you miss half the story)
The Harry Potter books are an awesome read, yes even for adults. Better yet, listen to them on tape as I did with the first four. I've seen all the movies too.
I don't like kids or wizardy stuff. I just can't imagine I would get into it.

Knight: What, no reading for "fun"?
Come on now, you've shown us your bookshelf. You have plenty more room all the way to the ceiling!
July 15, 2008 at 11:46 AM
Knight... I used to be the same way. I thought it was just silly about all the hype etc.
I was wrong.
