I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll still get our "holiday" bonus this year and it won't go the way of raises and the company picnic, or there won't be any Christmas shopping this year!

What's Christmas?....
Do I have to go shopping .......again?

The truth is, Bicky and I pretty much keep Christmas between the two of us. A few presents will go to moms, but with no kids...no big deal.

I buy through out the year. When I come across something that I think would be a good gift I buy it. I have already bought 5 gifts and many more to go. However I will have everything done by December 6…..bought and wrapped! I hate shopping for Christmas….spending the money and dealing with all the terribly rude people that are just as pissed off as myself about spending all that money.

I'll be done by Thanksgiving Day. Christmas is a real simple holiday around here. I was even thinking of not bothering with the tree this year.

I would SO love to get my shopping done by Thanksgiving BUT my husband makes me wait until mid-December to do it. It really stresses me out waiting, but that's when the bonus comes and besides, older boy's birthday is in the 1st part of Dec so we kinda need to wait and see what his b-day gifts are before we shop, too.

I talked to my Sister last year and she is on the same page I am, no gifts, birthday either. If we see something through out the year that just screams we get it for someone then do it; because you want to. I don't think this applies to cards though. You should send a card or call or blog or... If they mean enough to you then acknowledge them. Hubs family is gift giving impaired so the fun had been sucked out of it on that end. I find the holiday hoopla this year upsetting. So many folks are in a bad way and every time I see holiday commercials on TV it just make me think of them, what a downer.

I start buying in July and then sort of stop because I feel I'm "ahead of the game" and I have plenty of time until I realize there's only a couple of weeks until Christmas to which then I become a last minute shopper.
There is no happy medium for me...ever.
