I haven't seen it but the last time I was in NYC (admittedly several years ago) it was HUGE. And I've heard incredible things about it. If I ever make it back to New York, it would be on my list.

I see more cleavage then that at the mall and around town with all the teenage girls. Good grief!

I don't think it's anything to get worked up about... I think some people are just trying to buck the trend of putting so much sexuality out there b/c of children. But starting w/ billboards about puppet shows is not where I'd start, LOL.
I get to see more Broadway than most people just because I live here, but I saw Avenue Q about 7 years ago. I was funny. I think it is playing in Vegas too.

I believe this played in Charlotte last year. Didn't see it but don't recall it generating too much controversy.
AbsolutGator beat me to it.. That billboard is sooo tame compared to the ones for the old Cafe Erotica's up and down I-75.. Fortunately, they went belly-up.. Still have to distract DD when driving home.. I-75 in Georgia sucks too.. "Strippers - Need We Say More?"
If we're gonna go down that road, I like it a lot. I wished I had seen more of it at the Buffett concert this past weekend, but it was a littly nipply outside and I guess the ladies in attendance decided to cover up. Thats the only bad thing about a Buffett show in Feb!
I had tickets to go see it but then my mother had to go and have a heart attack so I missed it. Mom is fine now, fyi, so every time we have tickets to the fox I call her up and tell her we're going to the show and is she planning on having another one.
=)
I heard it was funny, but pretty risque for puppets.
Refusing to run the ads just gives more publicity to the show. It's probably the best thing that could have happened. More people will want to see it to find out what all the hoopla is about.
Seriously, if you hadn't used the words "puppet cleavage" I probably wouldn't have even recognized it as cleavage. It's such a weird color! :-)
Well now I am mad. My friend invited me to see that when it came to MN, and I turned her down because I am in Vegas the week before. Now? I so want to see it!!
It actually makes red blooded men want to shag a muppet.
Still on in London. Quite conceivably will outrun The Mousetrap...;-)

I just had to post this one. Heard this morning about Colorado refusing to put billboards and posters for the Broadway Show Avenue Q because of the overt puppet cleavage in its ad. I have found a picture of the ad and just had to post it.
[Image] Are we as a society wound so tight that we can't even take the joke involving puppet cleavage? Apparently in Colorado Springs they are. Now I certainly haven't seen this show Avenue Q but from reading about it I have found that the character portrayed is called 'Lucy the Slut.' I am willing to bet this play is Hilarious and it seems to be a take off on Sesame Street where they deal with real life issues such as drinking, dating, and Internet porn. It also has characters named Christmas Eve and Gary Coleman. I must see this play! Has anyone seen this? I would be interested to hear how it was. I also want to hear what you think about the billboards being censored. And what exactly is wrong with cleavage anyway? LOL!

Hell, there is more real cleavage than that shown for 24-hour 'adult restaurants' along the interstates in FL!

I've seen more cleavage at the pool than that. Let's face it, cleavage is just skin. It'd be different if they were nude or had pasties on.

Yes, the GA I-75 corridor is terrible. We went to Atlanta last summer and my daughter asks, "Whats a stripper?"

I personally don't see anything at all wrong with a little cleavage! But those that know me already know that, lol!

AbsolutGator - Told DD (8y/o daughter) it was something to take varnish off of furniture!!! She's still confused!!! :):):)

Just Me... - Too funny! I told my daughter it was a person that refinishes wood furniture. I guess protective parents think alike.

WHAT. THE. HELL.
First Global Warming and now OVERT Puppet Cleavage????? What is this world coming to?
'Tis truly a shame.
As my daughter said when she was 4 and eavesdropping on my telephone conversation, this world is going to "hell in a hell basket."
You know... outta the mouths of babes and stuff.

Vin, I thought I was bad rubbing it out to the chicks in Heavy Metal, but you just took the cake.

I need to hang out at Southern Belle's mall. ;-)
Colorado Springs is overrun with fundie douche bags. Any woman not wearing a Burka is offensive to many of those people.
