We have a deep fryer just like that and it is awesome. You should also try wings, fish, hushpuppies and turkey in your fryer. We do regular fish frys when we are able to stock up on fish. Another great use is shrimp boils. Have fun with your new toy!

Doc, Is that the final initiation to becoming a Redneck? :-)

Maybe you can experiment with deep fried twinkies and snicker bars next.

Mt.Cat…..I believe to complete Docs initiation he would have to switch his beer to Budweiser and have his recliner out front frying his bird.

Blogger Doc said...

Couldn't put the recliner out there... It was raining.

LOL

See Doc...you could not be a real redneck because a real redneck would not care if it was raining. That's what they make plastic for.

I checked the picture - the red car next to you is NOT on blocks. But, if you have a washing machine on the front porch, you may still be inducted into the Bubba Club.

I am going to have to buy a rotisserie (sp?) chicken for lunch after reading this post. I am CRAVING a pretty chicken!

So happy that you did not burn down the house. I couldn't tell for sure, but were you wearing crocs while deep frying that bird?

Very cool Doc. Propane huh? I could have one of them on the boat.

Karen - you are absolutly right.. I WAS wearing the Crocs!!! HAHAAHA!!

Speaking of Redneck, If you look carefully in the pic with my T'Blazer and garage in it you can see the racecar hood with the big Kodiak Bear hanging from the ceiling!

You know, I like the looks of fried chicken, I even like the smell most of the time, but I cannot bring myself to eat anything off a carcass. More for the rest of ya, though!

That sounds so good! Maybe if I get my husband one he'll get interested in preparing meals. I could handle that. That's why I pretend to not know how to grill ;-)

I might have you beat in that redneck department...I have a dear head hanging up in my garage.

Be careful Doc! You might poke your eye out with that thing or better yet burn your house down! Especially if you have to many of those brewskies along with it! LOL!

The bird looked delicious!

I have a strange feeling I'd rather eat a bacon sandwich.

Don't get me wrong!

It does look very nice but I couldn't be arsed spending all that time....

That's why I got married...so somebody else could...;-)

Oh God...Male chauvenist in the house!!!...;-)

I'm all about any cooking that happens outside so there's less kitchen clean-up!

Those fryers are great for fish fries and also for boiling corn on the cob.

Oh yeah, that's pretty tasty looking. And, I'm a green bean casserole guy too.

Also, the key is to not start the drinking too long before the deep frying. As long as you're still thinking clearly, you can do it without burning down the house. ;-)

So that's a turkey deep fryer - I've heard of the things but never actually seen one. Slightly terrifying, but the bird does look great.
