Karen.... Not many folks remember Harry Chapin anymore. Sad... I am not huge on the Boss actually my favorite Bruce Springsteen song is really more famous in the version sung my Manfried Mann (and his Earth Band)

I think Bina was searching for Beaches, Ballads, Boats, and Bars.... I agree but this doesn't meet my particular qualifications because it's a boxed set. It is a definitive collection of Jimmy up until the late 80s though!
I could listen to your list except for Men At Work.... that one surprised me.
I would have to add some Beatles, Elton John, and maybe a little Johnny Cash's greatest hits (for those mellow moods)!

I was thinking the other day that I needed to compile a list that Vin asked me about years ago. To really sit down and come up with my Top 20 essential albums. The 20 albums I would take with me to that fictional "desert island." So I sat down and thought about it and I have to admit it was tough. I have so many. Probably enough to do 100 but at least 50 essential "must have" albums. My criteria was that the album had to be produced and purchased from the artist not a compilation (or playlist - cause I don't do the I-pod thing) burned from other sources. This includes double albums, live recordings, and greatest hits too of course. I would love to hear your comments as well as your top 20 list as well. So here goes the 20 albums I cannot live without In order:

Dianne - The only Beatles album I own is 'One' and it didn't make the list...

Correction = Vin got me into the Led Zep and The Who... NOT the Pink Floyd. A girl I dated named Mandy got me into Floyd.

Personally I prefer Earth, Wind and Fire over The Commodores but good choice though Doccy.
