Substituting ground turkey for ground works well in Chili too. Not so much for meat loaf though. I usually mix the two. Half ground beef and half ground turkey.
Politics of Contraband? That was the title of an episode of Miami Vice, right?
Kidding. I think it's a book that is some companion to Star Wars movies or something like that.
Oh I remember, Cantraband was a music group that came out in the 80's. I think they originated in Nicarugua. They never really caught on though. I think I saw them on Amercan Bandstand or was it Soul Train.
Okay, how can you even mention the fact that you have a great name, and then not mention it? SO unfair.
Hmmm, never seen a billboard for coffins. Taht's kinda creapy. Do they want people to start dying more or what? I mean, am I supposed to call and say, "Hey, I saw your ad and I'm just DYING to buy a coffin!" (I crack me up).
Hey! I have been to that WalMart in Panama City! Oh yes sirree I have! You know the most fun I had there? Well, I can't tell you the most fun I had at the state park, but the second most fun I had was riding scooters around! We did that for four hours and my God it was fun!
Do they want people to start dying more or what? I mean, am I supposed to call and say, "Hey, I saw your ad and I'm just DYING to buy a coffin!" (I crack me up). - Bina I just about peed my pants reading your comment... HAHAHAHAHAAAA !!!
'From the office of the president right down to me and you Me and you It's a losing proposition, but one you can't refuse It's the politics of contraband, it's the....'
Funny that you cracked up about the coffin billboard because awhile back i almost fell on the floor after shopping at Costco. While walking to the door there was an entire section with real coffins and everything for sell! My sister's husband is from Bahrain and he actually took our picture standing in front it! whew... we laughed for hours on that one!
Absolut - My point is that Wal- Mart won't sell albums with words they think are offensive but you can buy a bottle of Johnny Walker - Something ain't right about that.
Oh come on... that show is great. It's certainly better than Diego, Dora, Franklin, Moose A. Moose and the WORST show ever created The Upside Down Show. (and that show has a guy named Shane on it)
Ooo, yeah! Doodle Bops suck! Of course, all kids shows are annoying to me, except "Curious George". We love that at our house. We watch 4 times/day. I think I've seen every episode 12 times!
I haven't seen coffin sales billboards but I have seen tons of headstone/monument billboards.
I woke up to the Noggin channel once, must have hit the remote in my sleep. Scared the crap out of me, I was certain all the drugs from years ago had suddenly been re-activated. There's some freaky stuff out there for kids.
Leighann, What exactly constitutes as a bitch slap?...Oh wait we went over this before. Never mind.
But Leighann, I did see that big red Yo Gabba Gabba thing on your Passion Party sales page. Can you custom make one with a big eye in the middle of it like that picture?
I think I am going to do my best to work Yo Gabba Gabba into as many blog posts as possible

Ah, I found your blog through Hopper's. If you want really awesome burritos, come down to Wilmington and visit Flaming Amy's. No, I'm not a paid sponsor; it's just one of my favorite places and seeing how we're both Tar Heels, well, I'm just sayin'....
Aunty Becky - Something told me that you would know about Yo Gabba Gabba (and it's people very much like Vince and I that come up with stuff like it according to my wife)
howdy doc... thanks for dropping by the old site... i always like to drip by and see what you all are up to... i added a story yesterday about the whole binge drinking thing... the one about wiping the shit out of his ears... and yeah... you better watch out for that fatwa... these guys don't fuck around... they may even send one of their virtual assassins to your site... ugghhmmmmm... maybe that's sort of in bad humor... ah well... that's what's great about freedom of speech... later doc...
I just caught it as I was changing channels to wrestling.

No billboards, but in Donelson, TN ...right down the road here...we have a discount coffin shop. Seriously. If you're broke and dead, they'll fix you right up!
Stuff that I have been thinking about: -Other than Mt. Cat does anyone else off the top of their head know what "The politics of Contraband" is ?? (without looking it up) -There is this restaurant here near where I work called Johnny Burrito that has been giving out free burritos for lunch all week. I am not sure if that is a good thing or if their food is so bad that they have to give it away. [Image] -Speaking of Mexican food, my wife and I are trying to eat healthier and lose a few pounds so this past weekend I made tacos with ground turkey instead of beef. They were not bad at all! -I found another funny name in my customer follow up list this week that I want to share but the last time that I did that that actual person e-mailed me wondering why I posted their name, so maybe I shouldn't post this new one. -Odd search note of the week: Someone from Tehran Iran on the "Islamic Republic" government IP site googled us and read Mt. Cat's Al Pacino post on Monday. Hey Vin - you better not get a fatwa started over our blog! -If any of you go to see the movie Leatherheads this weekend this may interest you. Most of the movie was shot in and around Charlotte, NC including most of the football game scenes. OK so maybe that doesn't interest you... but it does me. -Thank goodness they finally got around to voting Ramiele off of American Idol. I guess it's Goodbye Malubay. -On our trip last week as we were driving through rural Alabama my wife spotted a billboard for (no joke) coffin sales. It was quite unique to say the least and she was cracking up. Has anyone else ever seen a billboard advertising coffins before? -Check this out. I went into a Wal-Mart in Panama City Beach while on vacation and inside was not only a full surf shop complete with an entire station for airbrushing t-shirts but there was also a liquor store. Yes you read correctly there was a liquor store in the Wal-Mart in Panama City Beach. And people wonder why that area is referred to as the "Redneck Riviera" -If you are ever bored (REALLY bored) sometime check out the show called Yo[Image] Gabba Gabba on Noggin TV. This show is a trip. It's kind of hard to explain but they have these creatures who dance around to hip hop type music and teach kids valuable life lessons like keep your hands to yourself, how to eat healthy and brush your teeth, and clean up after yourself. It's hilarious to watch and they even get celebrity guests on there to dance with the creatures. Does anyone else out there know what I am talking about? Now why didn't Mt. Cat and I think that idea up? -I think that I am going to get a chance to do something really cool next week but I am not positive yet so I don't want to jinx it. Stay tuned though because I will tell you all about it if it happens.

"The politics of Contraband"? Does it make me a geek if I tell you I do??
Ground turkey, in anything well seasoned, is FABULOUS!
April 3, 2008 at 12:37 PM
Hopefully Johnny Burritos didn't have the health inspector stop by just prior to the give away week...

Jay is pretty doggone close with his first guess!
April 3, 2008 at 12:42 PM
Hmmm... Politics of Contraband sounds like a fancy way to refer to drug trafficking.

Jay, 'Here's a little money, now we'll do it just the way we planned
You be cool for twenty hours, and I'll pay you twenty grand.'

Dana - not a geek at all...
Lu - I don't know. I am not eating there... Yuck!

I will admit to you guys that it took Mt. Cat a minute or two to get this one... It surprised me because he is usually all over stuff like that.
April 3, 2008 at 12:47 PM
Lu - and their lead singer was Daniel Ortega right?
Or was that Sam Sham and the Sandanistas ???

I think Noggin TV is just ripping off the Teletubbies! Memba them??
April 3, 2008 at 1:46 PM
I'll have to put that show on my "things to do while high" list.
April 3, 2008 at 2:11 PM
I think you should email me the funny name. I went to high school with a girl named Latwatta, is it funnier than that?

I don't know Yo Gabba Gabba, but I am pretty sure it will enduce seizures so I will refrain from watching it.
I want to see Leather Heads really, really badly. Though the draw has nothing to do with the NC connection...
April 3, 2008 at 3:15 PM
Doc, Well you hate The Simpson and The Family Guy so I would not take much stock in Yo Gabba Gabba!
LOL.
April 3, 2008 at 3:28 PM
Karen - Must be for Rene Zelwigger then....
Vin - BIG difference there chuckle head, the things I refuse to watch are CARTOONS. Adults shouldn't watch cartoons! Yo Gabba Gabba is live action.
April 3, 2008 at 3:33 PM
Doc my daughter will bitch slap you if she hears you say ANYTHING bad about Dora *giggle*
Keep in mind that I once worked in a daycare, there aren't ANY kids shows that I like! Hell I barely even like the kids who watch kid shows anymore!
April 3, 2008 at 3:37 PM
chuckle head BAHAHAHA!
April 3, 2008 at 3:39 PM
And for the record, the worst show EVER made.... Doodle Bops!!
April 3, 2008 at 3:40 PM
I never heard of Doodle Bops but it sounds horrendus... Nothing is worse than that upside down show... NOTHING.
and I hate Dora and Diego (but it's for their subliminal influences)

April 3, 2008 at 3:51 PM
Boobs--you cracked me up!
Dianne--you're welcome. Good stuff. I almost peed my pants at your Noggin comment! Another good reason not to have cable.
April 3, 2008 at 3:52 PM
I might have missed it but it seems that no one knows "the policitcs of contraband" ???
