I agree with Stephen....those blues in the shadows are 'something'... and then you've got the bright orange on the 'donkey'...I love this one.

Don't know how you do it Frank...a stunning painting that imparts so much information about light, time of day, etc. With a closer look it dissolves into wonderfully abstract, deft flicks of color. Great job!

Thanks Don, Sometimes I can just get out of my own way long enough to leave one like this.

they're so comfortable together - what a lovely family those three make. you always get the stance/attitude so perfectly in people and animals - it's like you can hear their voices and breathing! i love the tender, sensitive way you portray people and animals........

had to come back to this one after reading that ambitious blog dealio. didn't he talk about the way you use color as the mode of expression and (gosh, I should have read it with the intention of remembering precisely....sorry). well, i had to come back and look at this one again. it had brought to mind cezanne when i first saw it - and tapestries and old chinese paintings --- i love how you don't paint the same all the time...so versatile, so expressive, so evocative. but anyway, this one came to mind when i read what that guy wrote about you. i keep thinking about color flying through the sky when i see your paintings. makes me happy.
