what a great painting frank, it's interesting to me to see how you handled the beach/sand/stones, really. can't wait to see the rest of your paintings from the trip, the others you posted were just wonderful. glad you had a great trip!
Ah...he emerges! It's good to see another of your wonderful paintings, Frank. Thanks. Sounds like it was a very productive trip. Can't wait to hear more.
Thanks Christine. The seaweed and stones was the toughest part on this one. I wanted a solid block in with simple shapes. Seaweed does not really fit into that theory. I had painted more of it in one area, but later knocked it out. Was too distracting. I need more time on the beach so I can work on that more :-)
I love the simplicity and feeling of light in this one, Frank. Such clean colors. I can feel the warmth of the sun--lovely. so glad you are enjoying your time at the beach. Faye
Of all the recent boat pieces, this one stands out. I think it's as much to do with the scale of the subject (closer in) as with the fresh color and bravura paint handling.
We had a wet finish to my week on Cape Cod. It cut down on some of our outdoor painting time, but it gave me a chance to make some slight adjustments on a few of the paintings back in the studio. I completed nine paintings and had to sign and title them, get the frames all wired up and take some quick photos of the finished paintings. I left them all out there at my friend Jerome Greene's gallery in Dennis, so I had to have everything ready to leave with him on my way off the Cape.

Thanks Susan. I'll have some more up soon.
It was a pretty productive week. I had hoped for a few more, but I am happy with what I painted.

Beautiful the way you got the sunbleached, washed out look of a very simple singular image.
It's hard to do simple- this effectively.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of them. Sounds like it was a productive trip. Nine!

Hi Frank-- I love the dinghy colors. Sounds like you got a lot of painting done!
Hey, are you back? We were talking about you today over at my Monday Map... ;-)

Really a fine job, Frank! Making it look this easy is a very difficult task, as they say. Loads of "personality" in the dingy!

Thanks Bonnie! I'll get another post up tonight.
Thanks Alicia!
Hi Jennifer, Thanks.
Thanks Dean. Yeah, it is not as easy as it may look sometimes.
